But go ahead and think a third year magically fixes everything. I heard the same thing about Derek Dooley and Butch Jones. Got to give them an extra year. And it got worse.

I read all of the previous 8 pages and half of this one to read this. I'm glad you owned it. You should.

FWIW, I am not of the sentiment that you can just carve out the first 16 games or whatever and compare regimes. It's way harder than that. Turning over rosters, etc...

Not at all. But throughout this entire thread, you said Butch's record vs Pruitt's is better. The Facts say you are wrong. In total wins, SEC Wins, Hell even Wins vs SEC West......

Why are you running away from a factual argument that you claimed in the first place?

For the record I do think Pruitt is a better football coach than BJ. Hopefully we can get this bowl win and keep improving and getting better over the next few years and put Botch and Dooley way, way behind us.

They literally each almost have the same record for their first two years... Did you people think CBJ went 5-7 twice in a row? If Pruitt learns to game plan and actually wins the bowl game then it can be said he is doing better than CBJ. But if he loses? Lol. Exactly. The. Same. Record. CJP is gonna need 9 or more wins the next few years..

After Butch fired Dave Lawson.. His team crashed. Players weren't practicing or working out. Injuries were mounting up because of this.. Fulmer after seeing the destruction Butch did with these decisions said it would be 4 years to be competitive. So let's ask a question, if Butch was to have continued on last year and this year, would his this year record be 7-5?

Yet at the same time their records are worlds apart.

Butch got 5 SEC wins in 2 years and was 0-4 vs the West.

Pruitt is at 7 Wins with 2 wins vs the West

Pruitt indeed has a better overall record than Butch thru 2 years which is the only thing you can compare them with: 2 Years!

It is good to see you woke up today and backtracked and slowed your roll. Was worried you were legit crazy yesterday.

Backtracked? Lol. Not backtracking at all. CBJ still has the better record not only as a HC at UT, but as a HC overall.

And wins against the west? LOL. Only 1 win against the west counts, thats Alabama. Depending on the bowl game Pruitts record is either going to be the exact same as BJs at two years or with 1 win more. Not really worlds apart or mind blowing differences at all..

LMAO Central Michigan was a powerhouse with him.
Only Botch Jones could manage to go 27-13 in the MAC conference with Antonio Brown as his wide receiver. And O let us not forget that JJ Watt was on the 2007 team. He had JJ Watt and Antonio Brown on the same team in 2007 and went 8-6.

At least has a better record than Jeremy Pruitt. I wonder why he has no head coaching offers on the table?

The worst coach in Tennessee history is easily Kevin Beard. Beard wasn’t even allowed to talk to the WRs by the end; Butch had interns doing the job instead.

??? First off Pruitt doesn't do the bulk of the gameplanning the coodinators do. Gameplans have not been the issue in the losses, it has been execution. Chaney has had great gameplans and has changed up on the fly amazingly. There were some personnel adjustment issues but they were rectified with Tee moving to the sideline. Ansley as first time coodinator had some rough spots in the beginning but has really done well.
