Would have been interesting to see how he would have done. I really don't think Peterson fits that well in the SEC but the guy is an elite coach. If people will remember after all hell broke lose Peterson was Larry's guess as to who would be our next coach. Other people in the Blackburn camp thought they had a decent shot at him to say the least.

I LOVE Petersen. Don’t get me wrong. I just have no desire to be in this coaching search circus.

Sounds about right. I figured 20-24. Close loss to #26, close win vs #20.

Either way, notched another good tourney resume win and had a loss that doesn't hurt us. That's a small win.

Thanks to the 25 limit, it has made it easier for other teams to be competitive again. There isn’t room for all the best players on all the good teams. So you will see it even out eventually.

Makes rebuilding harder though. Punished extra for firing coaches now and really rewarded extra for continuity.

When they originally reduced the limit decades ago, metastudies showed it didn't have an effect on evening out the competitive balance. It did show programs already on top largely voted for lowering limits. Researchers call them "incumbents". It makes sense...decreasing the ability of others to flip a roster quickly is like a barrier to entry. The incumbent programs are glad to restrict limits and hold their advantages. For them, 30-40 kids isn't a program changer. They already have years of guys recruited to their standard and scheme. But look at what UAB could do with 40 new scholarships, as an extreme example.
