The Impeachment Thread

My point is that a government only goes "bankrupt" when it's unable to tax or borrow enough to pay its obligations. And right now we're a long way from that. Thus, I do not see a disastrous recession on the horizon due to that (alone).

There are other factors out there which might cause a recession. But there's no obvious bubble that portends a worse one than 2008.
They are easing right back to the same lending practices that got us here in the first place.

Link?

If that were the case residential building should be well above what it is now.
My nephew whom is a VP at a large mortgage originator and servicer made the same comments to me at Thanksgiving. While the market is overheating again the total situation isn’t nearly as primed for collapse as it was in 2008. They expected a pullback this year but are looking at next year now.

To have a recession worse than the last one you need a big bubble somewhere, and I'm not seeing it today.

Thus it would have to several things at once: trade, oil, credit, etc.

That along with many other things. He was a wanna-be tyrant.

I dunno... sounds like sour grapes from the losing side of the War of Northern Aggression. Seems like we've been equally subjected to similar torture by Trump's nonstop Twitter diatribes. :D

Republicans Blast Impeachment Evidence in New Report: Nothing Proves Any of Democrats' Allegations

This GOP Report shows nothing has been proved by the Do-Nothing-Democrats.......all BS as usual.

No evidence of extortion.....no evidence of bribery.......no evidence of High crimes and misdemeanors.....
and No evidence of abuse of power..........Dems will have to go back to their secret basement meeting room to come up with something else to embarrass themselves with.......womp womp womp.....

Take a look at that picture. Trump leg-humpers, that's your brain trust. Frankly, I'd take Moe Larry and Curly in a battle of wits over those three.

So let me get this straight, you don't trust Ukraine because they're corrupt, but you want them to do an investigation into your political rival and you're confident that investigation will be done on the up and up.

The investigation is irrelevant. Trump just wanted an investigation announced so he could yap about it. The same way Barr is doing at DOJ.

Of course that's right. But they want us to believe Trump cares about stamping out corruption. It's complete horse crap that my toddler can see through.

They will try to make that argument though. Should be entertaining.

It is just mystifying why they dont just claim it's not a big deal, look at the economy. It's not worthy of impeachment. Easy argument, it's where they are really coming from. Instead they continue the lie that it wasn't what it obviously was.

If you put everyone under truth serum no one would confess to believing this.

I agree. Maybe they’re reserving that as a fallback argument, with the thinking that most of their knuckle-dragging base is buying the crap they’re currently selling. No reason to invoke it yet.
