I was about 25. I finally left one environment and ended up getting around a different circle of people after I changed jobs.

It’s my belief that you cannot testify if you’ve never been tested. While I talk openly about my stupidity it’s not pride, it’s shame. It does give me credibility though when I’m telling people “you control what you think, you don’t have to be an ass”

As another poster said, I trust Pruitt to make a decision that will be in everyone’s best interest. If in any way he thinks this has a negative effect on the team it can’t happen. Basically, if he gets another opportunity to play football at the University of Tennessee Banks will not even have a 1 strike policy. I don’t even think he gets a checked swing with the first base ump making a call policy.

He’s coming back. Frankly, running your mouth while being drunk isn’t near as bad as being drunk in the first place. I respect the police but he was just another drunk running his mouth. It happens all the time but this one was videotaped and spread on social media. The “girl” thing was all a set up. Hopefully he’s smarter than that now.

That is also my position. Lets put everything into the proper context and really look at what happened... not get ourselves worked up into a frenzy.

Was he drinking? I didn't think that was an issue with his arrest-just an illegal U turn and a bench warrant.

Let’s not start it over again but if you can’t hold your tongue drunk then don’t drink that much.

If he comes back I'd make him play tailback.
Yeah, we'll have good LB depth next year w/ commits and players this year. Looks like running back by committee next year, but that's ok...just need someone to carry the rock with vengeance. I'm not one to second guess the coaches...if he's good by them, I'm good too.

For most humans it is impossible to forget or forgive. That's why we are not God. If he is given a 2nd chance then that is one of the hardest things for some to accept. It is harder to forgive and easier to hate these days. He deserves a 2nd chance if he is doing the right things. How he handles that 2nd chance is the big thing. He was one of the guys I was really rooting for. I hope he does come back in beast mode. Good luck Jeremy.
The older I get, the *more* this truth reveals itself. I have found myself teaching this to my sons when they clash with friends. Hopefully, they can accept the message long before their old man did.

Just look at last week.
S hamburger has a stupid penalty and gets chewed on the sideline. Seconds later coach is dragging him by his shirt. People who had a problem with that should watch it again. What was actually happening there was coach telling him that he now owed his team a play to make up for his stupid penalty. Watch the replay as Shamburgers whole demeanor changes. He goes from looking beat to nodding and getting fired up again. As soon as coach let’s go he gets his helmet and goes right back in. He was stiff armed a couple plays later but was on fire the rest of the game. Everyone should rewatch that clip. Turns out our coach is pretty good at his job and mentoring these kids.

I noticed that as well. I assumed that SS threw his helmet or something to get CJP to get his attention the second time. Some seem to have an issue with an in your face coach. Most coaches that I had through high school were in your face kind of coaches. I never enjoyed the chewing, but I understood the message, and I respected the messenger.

Conversely, when CRB does it on the basketball court, no one says a word. CRB doesn't grab the players, but he sure speaks his mind.

And speaking of basketball the late, great CPS had a steely death stare and a pretty sharp tongue. Everyone, and I mean everyone respected CPS when she turned it loose. That includes the commentators.

I guess it's okay if your team is winning games, but taboo is you're not winning and you're trying to change a culture.

I am guessing this kid was kicked off by the administration, not Pruitt. Pruitt had suspended him then the 2nd video came out and he was canned. Doubt Pruitt has the option of bringing him back. It worked for JJ but he has a father who is a coach and a strong family group behind him. Doesn't matter to me, their decision because they have to be responsible for him.
LOT of “guessing” on this one.

Care to elaborate on why you feel this way?

It’s my opinion...and it regards watching a little thug mouthed $hit talking ‘bout shooting cops...

Don’t know ‘bout you, but if I was within 10 feet of him...he’d be down on his back crying like a little bitch...

That “elaborate” enough for you?

I don’t think he was drunk. That would have been an additional (and more serious) can of worms.

Our coach seems to be willing to go the extra mile to develop these kids into men. JG for example. I would not be surprised to see Banks back at some point.

Which makes him a better human being than the holier than thou, I never a stupid thing in my life claimants. The only people who don't deserve a second chance are those who demonstrate it by refusing to even try to change. But you know how it is with holier than thous, who often are the worst sinners imaginable. Then when finally caught weep crocodile tears.

Agreed, definitely a different generation with the need to share absolutely everything ranging from how they feel and what they ate for an afternoon snack to what the consistency and color of their morning bowel movement was.......we're creating a generation of narcissists and ego-centrics. I got rid of social media years ago and dont regret it.

Nate, VN is social media.

LOT of “guessing” on this one.

Not much of a guess, he was on every channel nationwide because he hit a narrative the media is looking for. It aired everywhere for 3 days and got a lot of national attention. Common sense says the administration got involved after that. I would if I was one of the administrators.

Some of you guys might take this the wrong way, but I almost wish he was drunk or high. If you are drunk or high, at least you can say I wasn’t in my right mind and I made a mistake by saying things that i didn’t mean because I was under the influence. That’s correctable, you go to some classes, do some community service, promise to abstain from drinking and agree to drug tests.

I don’t remember him being drunk or high and spouting that nonsense. If he’s saying/thinking that sober, what the hell is he gonna when he’s smoking or drinking?

Exactly! Superimposing your personal preferences in your “guesses”.
