ubben.DL Aubrey Solomon and TE Austin Pope were working on the side with S&C staff during the open period today. WR Jauan Jennings also looked limited during individual drills.
It was a lighter practice for many of Tennessee’s vets Tuesday, with Jauan Jennings, Marquez Callaway both a bit limited during indy work. Center Brandon Kennedy, who noted that he plans to appeal for a sixth year of eligibility, was also ceding reps to Jerome Carvin and Ryan Johnson.
Tennessee’s quarterbacks and tailbacks spent nearly an entire period working on swing passes. That’s obviously been a sore subject for the offense this season, with Jim Chaney even noting Tuesday, “It’s not that hard of a throw guys!”
The offensive line worked on combo blocks early, and Trey Smith continued his destruction of opposing lineman. He put a poor scout teamer on his back on one pull block.
Wanya Morris was dragging a bit and a couple GAs were trying to get the freshman to push through whatever was bothering him Tuesday.
SimontonNotably, Quavaris Crouch, who played just 10 snaps against Missouri, was with the inside linebackers Tuesday.
Jauan Jennings wasn’t a participant during the “On-Air” drills, though he was out there with the group. he could’ve easily been just getting some rest, as this group has been beat up over the last few games.
t.wallaceAubrey Solomon was working on the bike, as he continues to recover from a “head injury”. Austin Pope also joined him on the side.
With Pope absent, Tennessee had just three non-scout team tight ends going through the drills: Dominick Wood-Anderson, Andrew Craig and Jacob Warren.
Freshman wide receiver Jerrod Means, who hasn't played since the Alabama game, went through a period of drills with the wideouts, but went to join Pope and Solomon on the bike during routes-on-air work.
Two noteworthy items: Jahmir Johnson was present and going through drills and Will Friend slowed down one rep of guard/center work to give some extra coaching on technique to freshman Chris Akporoghene.
p.brownAfter playing every snap against Missouri, cornerback Bryce Thompson again went through drills normally on Tuesday with a black sleeve on his right leg, and To'o To'o continues to go through drills with a sleeve on his knee and a large brace on his elbow.
