The Impeachment Thread

So please tell us again how and by whom these “ conspiracy theories” have been debunked? And don’t say because Fiona Hill said so.
The following sites who specialize in fact-checking have all debunked the CrowdStrike theory that Trump was pushing on Fox and Friends on Friday morning:

1) AP FACT CHECK
2) FactCheck.org
3) PolitiFact
4) Axios
5) Snopes
6) truthorfiction.com

Please tell us your thoughts on Biden saying Rudy will regret investigating his family for the rest of his life. Threat?
He wasn't talking to Rudy. He was talking to Lindsey Graham and he meant that it would end their friendship... and there is a lengthy video of Graham talking about how Joe Biden is such a great man and one of his best friends that was filmed shortly after the death of his son, Beau. Biden was only talking about that friendship. It was not a threat.

It will be in the Fox News edit.

The Tide has turned and not good for DIMs.
Ind do not support impeachment. Trump leading in Wisconsin. Flipped after this fiasco.

Putin is loving life. Keep up the great work for him, GOP.

There is one poll (Marquette) that shows Trump with a 3 point lead (well within the margin of error) over Biden in Wisconsin, but Biden still holds the lead in the Real Clear Politics Average. If you think that Democrats are going to panic because of one poll in one state, you are wrong.

It's not surprising that public favor for impeachment would take a downturn once the public hearings started because they are so partisan and unpleasant to watch. The same thing happened with the Clinton impeachment in 1998.

I have a feeling you will see a censure vote instead.
I have come around to agreeing with you. I think that is definitely where this is headed, but the Democrats will want to get testimony from Bolton first... and then craft a censure resolution in a way that will force some Republicans into a tough place if they want to vote against the resolution.

Slimeball Shifty should be called as witness.

Get him under oath.

And this is why the Ds aren't taking the impeachment process seriously, by the way. They'll never impeach. They will NEVER give the R senate control of this since the Rs will then get to call anyone they want to testify, and the Ds won't be able to run interference/cover.

I have been consistent on calling for this to move forward. I hope the R's throw a screwball at Nancy and vote Yes.

She asked a yes or no question.

Also, "I'm the last guy who want to go to court"? He sued a parody Twitter account.

You do know the GOP Senate can start a hearing on whatever it wants, right?
Sure. I also know the House Dems don't want to pass this investigation off to R control. As long as it stays in the House, they get to control how the narrative is built and presented. They get to drag this out, try to damage Trump's reputation, yet not have to actually prove anything. As soon as they impeach, they pass control of the case, all evidence, etc to the Republicans.

No bueno.

The Ds started this in the court of public opinion, hoping that they could sway the public and pressure Rs to eat Trump. It never happened, and now public opinion seems to be turning against the impeachment show. It seems to be a zero sum game now. Public opinion is turning against the kangaroo court, but the Ds need to keep it in the Kangaroo court.

The Senate can have hearings with any witnesses it wants. It can create whatever narrative it wants.
Why isn't it?

Apparently, they don't need to. And I suspect they are completely happy allowing the House Majority to take their masks off and show Middle America exactly what they're made of. Why stop an enemy when they're hurting themselves?

We have Hillary Clinton tweeting about shredding the Constitution. We have AOC stumping that the impeachment process is happening because they can't beat Trump at the polls. We have Schiff being caught in lies coming and going, then complaining that the Rs might put him under oath if the process moves forward.

We have the entire Democrat machine screaming 24x7, at the top of their lungs, about the evils of corruption and pay-for-play in the Ukraine. Well sonuvabitch if we don't have an investigations into Democrat corruption and pay-for-play in Ukraine.

lol

That's a pretty juicy narrative they have already... The boomerang of Democrat accusations. It'll be a massive narrative if the investigation shows improprieties by the Obama admin, Biden and his son, Pelosi and her son, having done exactly what the Democrat machine has been advertising as the most evil thing since the snake lost its legs. Quid pro quos. Corruption. Pay for play. Funneling money through their kids from corrupt players in the region...

And then the narrative that these folks who were trying to unseat a duly elected president were doing it to stop investigations into their corruption in the area...

That'd be juicy. And if that's what's coming, the Rs are letting the Ds write that narrative in skywriting, every day this media blitz continues, and the justice department works quietly behind the scenes.
