The Impeachment Thread

The Democrats are spending a lot of time trying to show bribery/quid quo pro at the expense of not uncovering whatever Trump had going on with Giuliani/the State Department. This "alternative channel arrangement" looks to me just as bad legally and also demonstrates the administration's incompetence.
Did the alternate server arrangement look bad to you?

Was OJ guilty or innocent? Legally, he was both - different legal standards are a thing.

It was not proven one way or the other. In criminal court he was innocent, legally. Therefore, guilty or innocent are one's opinion of him, but not proven. I do get that he can be held to wrongful death in civil court without admission or proof of guilt in criminal court. At the end of the day, it wasn't proven beyond doubt, so he is a free man.

{I did score a 27 on my LSAT cold turkey in 1987, 2 points above national average. I passed on law school in the end. However, I think being able to score a 27 on the LSAT cold turkey back when it was real exam still qualifies me to be just as good as our resident liberal JD's.}.

Amazing what money and fame can buy your way out of, isn't it?

That's the sound of the toilet flushing. Changing and introducing charges as the proceedings progress based on the success or failure of what you have presented to date.

Or maybe of it reflects constraints due to unavailable witnesses.

872 pages of our local left leaning lawyer wannabees making **** up. I doesn't get any better. Just thought I would check in. Glad to see EL, Velo, Bro, and their ilk are still swimming around in the swamp (more like a cesspool) of liberalism and are holding the fort down. It's still sickening that we even have these type of posters here but I guess they do make good cannon fodder. Had their messiah Barry Hussy OBama been hounded like this the amount of wailing and gnashing of teeth would have been unbearable.

Hey, are you guys actually going to vote for Butt gig?

It's all good. I very rarely agree with their views. And likewise I'm sure. But, it's a healthy exchange. If one is not challenged to explore one's beliefs then you most likely don't know why you believe them. [Well, maybe except for Luther. His brain is toast. If you work at it you can converse with EL and Septic].

He is the point the Dems are missing big time...

When this impeachment fails and the American public get to where they totally check out on everything the Dems blame Trump for due to exhaustion, he is then going to become an even bigger douche to deal with it and going to do everything possible to get payback. He is wired that way.

You can only throw so many conspiracy theories and false accusations at him and his Supreme Court nominations before the Boy who cried wolf scenario comes into play.

Then if he actually does do something no one is going to believe the Dems or even care.

We are honestly very close to getting there.

I hope there is a campaign ad showing the 6 votes for impeachment in the last year...ranging from insulting the Squad to dissing the NFL...compared to zero votes for the bipartisan upgrade NAFTA replacement trade treaty

Even if you prove QPQ happened, don't you still need to connect it as coming from Trump himself? Who's to say Rudy G. didn't come up with the idea without Trump's knowledge? I'm just saying, even if you prove a crime happened, don't you also need to prove who committed it? In order for impeachment, don't you think both need to be shown?

‎The Lawfare Podcast: The Lawfare Podcast Bonus Edition: Gordon Sondland vs the Committee with No Bull on Apple Podcasts

This is Sondland, but they have one for all the witnesses on an overnight delay. I’m not sure about this one, because his opening statement is in there and it’s longer than the rest, but the rest have had all the political bloviating cut out.

IMO, lawfare is somewhat slanted and may cut out some questions from republicans that address what they deem to be unsubstantiated conspiracy theories, but it’s much shorter and better than not listening at all. I’ve not heard a lot once it got past questions from the attorneys that was particularly meaningful, so at least the first hour and a half is worth it.

Uh oh! It appears Miss Stick up her English ass, Fiona Hill, penned an Op-Ed in the Wash Post in 2015 arguing against sending lethal support to Ukraine. It would appear that the Pres didn't take her advice.

Wait what? You’re making some kind of a religious appeal to me on Trump? Let be 100% clear. My party of choice needs to learn to mind its own business and get the hell out of people’s bedrooms. I want an effective chief executive as president. We’ve got one. The previous idiot was not effective in my opinion. The current president is a miserable human being and I’m sure probably I’d dislike him if I knew him. That however has zero impact on the job he petitioned for and won. And your “replace God and morality with the law” sales job falls on deaf ears too until you find clear convincing proof of “high crimes and misdemeanors” warranting removal which none of been presented to date.

Your doing the same cry wolf job here. You’re just trying to dress it up more convincingly.

Thank you for proving my point, even if you don’t know what the point was.

Ukrainian leadership at that point were Russian puppets. Your talking point makes no sense. I do hope Gym and Devin try it out on her, though.

I don't buy the victim mentality you're espousing on behalf of the "R's".

The congressional knife cuts both ways, If in fact what you're saying is true - then it really boils down to the D's being better at politics than the R's.

Nobody goes to Washington to make friends.
Lol. What victim mentality? I've never seen you go after anyone with a D beside their name like you have with Trump. Just pointing out the double standard. It's ok to be a liberal and hate Trump but don't think it shouldn't be pointed out.
