I’ll be honest, when this campaign got underway I thought that Kamala would be the nominee. I thought she would play well with both the moderate and progressive wings of the party. I had no idea just how truly awful of a candidate that she would end up being. And of course Tulsi murdering her on national television doesn’t help her cause.

Your party is in a tough spot. The energy clearly resides on the left, but the candidates who best represent that wing have policies that would greatly hinder their chances of winning next fall. The moderates would have a better chance, but there’s a risk of alienating the progressive wing. And as we learned in ‘04 and ‘12, trying to win an election running on “the incumbent sucks so you have to vote for me” doesn’t really work out.
