I think Rudy convinced Trump (maybe rightly) that Ukraine was still corrupt...I know that Sen. Johnson was astonished at how upset Trump was about Ukraine's meddling.. and convinced him to give Zelensky a a chance to fix it...that was what he ran on to get elected after all...Johnson was the one to push the face to face meeting
