Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Paying Insurance premiums yearly for having hurricane protection must be some really good times for those living in the path(s) of such things. Cost of living there must be outrageous.
Actually the cost of living here is not all that bad, but we turn off the AC when we leave the house and things like that. My property taxes are pretty low ($1800 for my 12 acre mosquito farm) and my wife flosses with copper wires that she makes from pennies.

Does your wife travel like you do?

Back when our kids were small & growing up....my wife would tell me to go up in the attic & get the tree.
This was like 3 weeks before Christmas. After the big event of christmas being finally over......it would take an act of Congress to get her to help take that thing down & back up in the attic until next time.
A guy at work was saying when he was a kid Santa brought the tree on Christmas Day. I don’t know if that’s a tradition or just being cheap.

We keep ours up through the 12 days at least.

Damn finding employees is a biatch right now. Opening a new restaurant and am starting kitchen folks out at $14 an hour. Short staffed when we opened. Bumped to $16 and still struggling. So now the ones I do have are dropping off bc of their work load. Feeding 1,500 a day is exhausting so I get it. But hell no one is applying. I am paying $4 more per hour then my competition. This is the tightest job market I have ever seen.
