This is exactly why Memphis gets a bad rep for being corrupt. That would never happen in Knox Co. That said, I don't see what power a Judge has over an NCAA ruling. The NCAA doesn't make laws or punish in any judicial sense. It's a voluntary organization with rules everyone has to follow if they choose to participate. It can and will enforce its rules. What's the angle being taken here that puts it in real court?
Yeah, but that's what gonna happen. Gonna happen in football too. Commerce clause much?
Supposedly that sentence applied to all of life, somehow.

Florida didn't vacate win over us in 2015 for having a cheating QB when we would have been East champ.
Failing a drug test THEN being ruled ineligible is different. Drugs/supplements don’t remove your amateur status.

And Bill Self. Bilas is usually spot on with this kind of stuff about how bad the NCAA is. Mark Cuban should swoop in and create a P5 only version of the NCAA, he'd make a fortune and everyone would be happier with the NCAA out of business.
Cuban’s a lot cheaper than when he first purchased the Mavericks.

Commerce clause doesn't apply here. There's no restriction on this kid going to a school that isn't an NCAA member, playing overseas or otherwise seeking employment. He also didn't move from one state to another so it's not a state to state issue. He entered into a voluntary agreement when he chose an NCAA school.

For reels? I always wanted to know how that went down. Do you know? I guessed it was least unlikely that the Knoxville press prolly called the Birmingham office and bammer and got it done.
My understanding is that Cobb wasn’t at the stage requiring dismissal. Majors had a zero tolerance policy that had only gotten stricter since Tony Robinson’s troubles

Wait, Penny paid for this family to move to Memphis before he was HC but while he was still a rich and famous alum/booster and they expected any other ruling?! This would be like Peyton Manning paying the family of the number one QB and projected 1st pick of the NFL Draft to move to Knoxville. I'm sure no one would see that as a problem, right? Add on Peyton then becoming HC and it gets worse but just moving him here as a alum/booster would be more than enough without becoming a coach/HC.
You think that moving van showed up empty to pick up the family. Or loaded with more gold than Fort Knox?
