I'm not a lawyer but I'm almost certain that you are wrong
It only takes a simple Google...

Signing the NLI FAQs
"Yes. If you are under the age of 21, regardless of marital status, your parent or legal guardian must sign the NLI in order for it to be considered valid. If you are 21 years of age or older, it is not necessary for your parent or legal guardian to sign the document."

Not sure about now, but it use to need a parent/guardian signature to be valid if under 21.
Julian Battle was a juco recruit from South Florida who had committed to Tennessee. Some other athletes from the area were going to NC St. On signing day he signed NLI for NC St. and when his mother got home from work she said "I'm only signing the one for Tennessee" you're honoring your word. Imagine that someone that understands committment.

Here's my question, why is it so important for the pro 'take the money and do nothing' crowd to say the other side is like them?

If that's what you would do or you're ok with it, fine. But don't tell me what I would do. Good grief.

Late to the debate, but if the agreement is that I try to find another job, I may take a short break to gather my thoughts after what just happened to me, but I couldn't live with myself if I didn't make an honest, continuing effort to find another job. And if I really thought I was a good coach I would settle for nothing less.

It's disappointing that so many would willingly take the money as he is, but not at all surprising. I complain constantly about my students wanting to take the easy way out, but I remind myself they learn it from the adults.

edit: Hit post too soon. On the other hand, I'm not convinced that's what he's doing. He may not be just taking the easy money. IDK. He may feel like he has a lot to learn and this is the best way to do it.

Exactly. Some dumb a$$ in Knoxville agreed to pay $8 Million if they fired him. As long as UT adds that language in contracts, coaches should free to take it and run. FSU coughing up $18 Million is funny as he!!. The people allowing that language in coaches contracts should be fired when the coach is fired. That might put an end to these stupid contracts.
Literally 100% of P5 contracts have that language built in. You'd never ever be able to hire any coach without it.

BS. Chaney has proven he can scheme the play calling to win with any and all of the 3 QB's. And the defense is playing lights out. Find a way to score 20 points and get ready for the next game.
Yeah and all the while, viewership is going down because the only one that makes the Vols exciting to watch is Maurer.

Put Maurer in the game win by 14.
Leave him out of the game again, put JG's a double s in the game and win by 3 or possibly lose.

No one wants to watch that garbage. And they only do it because of their love for the Orange and White.
