I wouldn’t consider being paid the remaining of a contract that you earned and both sides agreed to a “handout”.

If your company said they would pay your salary the next 3 years to stay home with your family you would do it. Don’t be silly.

A big positive is we have a very solid run defense. Only 3 teams have averaged 4.0 YPC or more against us (Georgia State, Georgia, Alabama).

We've also been able to win without passing, 3 of our 4 wins we had less than 185 yards in the air. But also when South Carolina was willing to man up and play run first, we showed the ability to light them up through the air. Really comes down to just being as healthy as possible on the OL, if we get good LOS play we should be able to take the crowd out of the game and deflate the cats early with long drives.

Haney article rings true more and more every day. I hated it at the time, and it was a bad idea to publish it while Butch was still coaching, but I can't say any of it was wrong. He's a deeply insecure guy and it showed in the way he coached the team once he started to achieve success and had to deal with increased expectations.

He seemed perfectly content with Tennessee going 8-4 and getting one decent win + a lower-tier bowl win every year and was shocked that the fans didn't appreciate that after year 4.

Lol I promise I wouldn’t. I am not built like that. If I won the lottery I would still work. I sure as hell wouldn’t do what I do now, but I would probably start a non profit and make my own hours. And you guys could thank me then for all of the recruits we would get...

Frankly, I don’t know what I’d do because I have never been there. I am guessing others haven’t either.

I probably wouldn’t do “nothing”, but my priorities would change and direction of working would certainly be different. Not sure anyone can even say what they would do until they actually wake up one day with millions in the bank.

You have a point, and it's a good one. Ridiculing him for taking it easy while getting paid handsomely is beyond hypocritical in most cases, I would assume. Not all his fault.

That and he prevented players from getting proper medical attention as well as encouraged mobs of players to attack a single player when he got medical attention anyway. He’s a POS.

Any AD that reads the info cannot hire him.

It's crazy that the industry has reached a level where those salaries and contracts are normal now. I mean, there are totally incompetent sub-100 IQ dudes out there making millions per year to poorly coach football for a few years, get fired, then get hired for $700k/year to be a positional coach or coordinator somewhere else. And they retire after 20-30 years in the game multi-millionaires.

Why not indeed...that’s what he’s doing. I’d counter that waiting until the well dries to BEGIN moving on isn’t on any Tony Robbins videos. Money is money. If he earns $300,000, why is that worth less than the same amount from a UT check?

I'm getting paid and I have to accept it for my family but have been battling depression because I can't overcome the feeling of "not being the man I was brought up to be".

My wife and kids are of course supportive and telling me it's not my fault but I feel nothing but embarrassment. I will run back to work if I'm ever able.
Don't tell me what I would do, none of you have that right or know me like that.
