Can’t say i blame him. Best job in the world is one that pays you to leave. Just hang out at bama. Watch film, don’t recruit, get paid a nice chunk by your Ex.
SMH... come on man. This world needs to wake up and everyone stop taking hand outs. What other job in the world could you lose and make millions for years for doing nothing? It is pitiful for anyone to have that mindset that I am not going to work because I am getting paid by someone else. If I lost my job today and got a severance, I would still find another high paying job and work. I guess that is the difference between me and Butch. I am a man and he is not.

Dooley landed a real job, got his family out of Knoxville, moved on and earned respect. Butch did the opposite. How people handle a situation like this reveals a lot about them.

BS. Chaney has proven he can scheme the play calling to win with any and all of the 3 QB's. And the defense is playing lights out. Find a way to score 20 points and get ready for the next game.
Our defense is what is winning us games right now. Not the offense. If the defense has a bad night and JG is QB, we will lose. See GA state and BYU, even though our defense played well all game but one catastrophic play. JG is not good and loses us close games.

Lol, yeah he can do that for sure. But he doesn’t realize he’s only hurting his own coaching career. Which is fine by me cause I don’t think he deserves to coach anything above d-2 ball. And even that is a stretch. The bottom line is we live in a society that loves to not do ish and get payed for it. And that is sad imo.

here's what i'll say about the offense. when you consider how much better the O line has been this year, you have to give credit to the offensive staff for that level of development, and though the freshmen have had their struggles, they've more than held their own as true freshmen, playing OT in the SEC.

in terms of the QB....i think you have to give them a TON of credit for how they've managed that whole situation. cause you're right, betweent he 3 of them, we don't have one that could go out and put a game on his shoulders and win a game for you.

yet, they've take all 3, and a 4th, and scrapped together a 3-1 record the last month.

i think the most important thing you can say about that is just how they've created game plans around that issue, and managed the personnel. they've played offense the way you need to when you're going to have to win with defense. there's value in that.....

i think the offensive coaches have done a fantastic job this season, espeically the past 3-4 weeks. it's not the traditionial "good job" cause we're not lighting up scoreboards or setting any passing or rushing records. but we're running the ball well enough to be able to keep running it, and we're doing well enough in the pass game that our WR's have been able to get downfield and make plays.

the biggest knock on the offense, and the challenge the coaches have from here on out is finding a way in the red zone....that's the one area we are abysmal in...and absolutely has to get better.

It's definitely more than 1%. My former company paid for a long term disability compensation that was impressive by any standards.
Almost everyone that had to resort to using it, would end up returning to work well before they had to, even when you could clearly see they should've taken longer.

I'm sure area has an influence, some regions still seem to push the pride and making your own way a little more, percentage wise. But still, it was surprising to see how many had that stance. Butch simply isn't one of them.

Edit: And obviously neither is Hank 😂

I agree. I don't know anyone who wouldn't choose to work, if they were able, vs. taking a handout. Character, self-esteem, work ethic-- I think those still mean something to a lot of people. But, no question, the other side is out there-- and well-represented here, too. ;)

What?? Lol. Step down from your soap box for a minute and think about it.

Butch is at the best program in the country. He gets to do all the football stuff he wants without all the bs of recruiting, dealing with boosters, etc. literally just watch film, probably develop special teams plan, go home. So his work hours and job pressure is way less so and probably way more fun. All while still getting paid the rest of his contract that he earned and both parties agreed to. That’s the whole point of working for a deal like that. Any person in here would do the exact same thing.

Say you’re the CEO of a fishing company. You do all the marketing, planning, finance etc. you sigh a contract for 5yr100k a year to be paid out even if fired. You get fired and are owed that. Some other fishing company says hey come aboard. We will pay you a small stipend until your buyout is up. All you have to do is just test your new gear. Basically just fish all day. Everyone in here would do it.

Ga State and BYU were a long time ago. Not sure if you've noticed but we're playing much better lately. We'd beat both of those teams easily if we played them again.

And you're right the defense is why we're winning. Good. Let them make turnovers, give good field position, score a TD or two and kick a few FG's. Win.

I think most coaches would rather be coaching. So many have made more money than they'll ever need to support their lifestyle and their children's but they return year after year.
You're simply either a coach at heart or you're not.
That’s the thing. Who knows if he even really wants to be a head coach again. Butch could get a number of these small openings im sure.

But he’s got a nice gig now. No head ache just football stuff and he’s getting a chance to stick it his ex. A lot of people have done that or can understand it in some capacity.

And has family money and is married to a doctor. He had less reason to want to work than Butch Jones, but chose to do so. Immediately.
Dooleys wife doctor salary has no bearing on anything financially ever since he landed big time sec coaching gig.

I really wouldn’t expect anything different from Butch. #analyst4life

Lol, That doesn’t make it right. People like to cheat, but not ALL people feel that way. I like to earn my money the right way, and I like laying my head down at night knowing I’ve put in a hard 10-12 hour work day to earn my money. If you accept handouts then it says a lot about the character of that said person.

Just saying not the same situation. He was a noted position coach before taking over La Tech. Butch wasn’t. Kinda HC or bust with him. Not defending him...just not coronating Dooley in comparison. If Dooley was getting $200-$300k with the Cowboys, that was in ADDITION to his Vols buyout.

Our defense played horribly against Ga. State. They couldn't line up right to save their lives. I still can't understand the coaching in that one. But our coaching is gelling and the player are buying in. Please oh please, win out this time Vols.
