What is better in your opinion. If you can only pick one, would you rather have a coach that is excellent in developing the talent or would you rather have a coach that is elite recruiter?

I might be overreacting but it definitely feels this year and last we have had more whiffs on elite prospects on the defensive line than every other position group combined.

But the flip side is our staff seems to be developing that position at a higher rate as well.

Would love to have both but will if I have to choose give me the developer

It’s going to hurt McCallie and Coach Potter with this staff in the future. It’s not Coach Potter’s fault per se but it’s up to him to teach these kids how to handle these things and mentor and lead them. Hence his words prior to Hardy’s decision. He has made himself, his school, and his coaches look something other than the image they want to project.

Why would It hurt them? They can’t control what some 17 year old kid does especially something like this where it’s not even a final decision. Is he supposed to push his kid to go to UT?

Teach them how to handle things the correct way. A high school coach is a mentor for helping kids as they become men. Read it again and perhaps your small brain can actually comprehend the post. Damn, sometimes you can’t understand things that are plainly written or read one sentence then go to argument mode.
