this made me think of something I saw on FB the other day. No clue if it’s true?!?We obviously don’t have to pony up for all highly rated players but I think it’s just as obvious that there are some instances where if you really want the kid there’s no other way. I don’t think it has anything to do with the character of the kid per se; I think it is a reflection on the adults in the kids life.
So I’m wondering what would be the going rate for various kids? I’ve always heard that there was $250,000 involved in Auburn getting Cam Newton. Alabama moved Tua’s family all the way from Hawaii to Tuscaloosa in order to close that deal. I think HT said earlier in the season that his parents had flown in from California for all of our games up to that point in our season. I think this was after the UTC game.
I’ve said before I wanted us to sign kids that the public services rated at a 95 or higher from a composite standpoint. I wonder how much the families of those kids think their kid’s signature is worth? Fulmer told the BOT that we got 5 guys last year that everybody wanted and this year we needed to get 10 or more. I take it that means we’re trying to increase our budget. Now clearly the football program and/or athletic department don’t have a direct hand in this and can only send dog whistles out to the guys who do. We’re using WWII code, sending messages over broadcast to the underground fighters behind enemy lines.
If every 95 or higher kid can command an average of $50k then for a full class that $1.25 million. That’s a lot of money year in and year out, and none of it can be connected in any way to the university. I wonder what our budget is. I’m guessing maybe a couple hundred thousand or so, or maybe less. What we really need is for folks like BigNewt and InVol to join the ranks of the “field recruiters” so we can at least double our budget. jmo.
I didn’t remember him landing Wanya. Gotta give him credit for that.Primary On: Jerome Carvin, Jackson Lampley, Wanya Morris, Cooper Mays, Javontez Spraggins
Secondary On: Jahmir Johnson, Chris Akporoghene, Melvin McBride, Darnell Wright, James Robinson, Kyree Miller
What am I supposed to be seeing?View attachment 236383Let’s take a break from the recruiting and make jokes. This is above the urinal at the Nashville Zoo... no way it wasn’t on purpose.@nicksjuzunk Another peen joke. Hahaha

See it now?
I’m starting to think maybe we are a lil too banged up right now to beat UK. OL is in shambles once again heading out to play a team that acts like this is the SB every time they play us
Id do it for 100k but would need to gain substantial weight and get hit with a stick a few hundred times.Dear Lord in Heaven... we pay mother fookin Will Friend $800,000 a year?!
What the HELL for???
To stand there on the sideline and look ugly?
Hell we could pay Newt 1/100 that amount to stand there all fat and ugly with a headset on.
What a Horrible, Horrible, HORRIBLE waste of program capital.
Good grief im getting a busy schedule lined up tonight! We obviously don’t have to pony up for all highly rated players but I think it’s just as obvious that there are some instances where if you really want the kid there’s no other way.
