For sure. Bad news is Florida and Oklahoma early in the season pretty much guarantees we start 2-2 and Missouri can certainly beat us.

Best case scenario next season is probably 8-4 or 9-3, realistically. Which would help recruiting but I’m not sure it’s good enough to land a top 5 class.

But the worst case scenario is we start 2-5 going into Arkansas, Kentucky and Georgia.

Not making a bowl game next year should result in an automatic firing.

Well yeah, but as someone said before, it probably depends on how you start. If you grant me there are 4 games we solidly win (I’m choosing to believe GSU doesn’t happen again) and there are 4 games that are likely losses, then can you sweep the swing games to get to 8-4. Can you jump up and beat Florida or Georgia without dropping one to Charlotte or Vanderbilt to get to 9-3?

Everything rests on this swing games after Florida and before Alabama. Missouri and South Carolina will tell the tale.

random bball ---

sad day I thought would never happen when not only are both UT bball teams not ranked (especially the girls- there was a time when it was unheard of for them to even be ranked outside the top 10), but the girls barely skate by east tn state!? getting outscored in the 4th? Yikes how far we've fallen...

Also, KY mens looses their top 4 scorers and still put on that performance last night... wow i can't stand them...
Hate to say it, but their freshman Maxey balled out. #10 recruit. JJ, the #14 recruit, looks like a usual UT 5*. Good prospect, but needs to develop. Anyone talking 1 and done, just no.

And maybe this is best for us, we weren't doing anything special this year anyway and really need an experienced PG for next year...get Uros out there and a few more 5*s. Future is exciting over there.

I think we'll fall in that 7-9 win range next year. We're still a couple of years out from competing with the top programs in this conference IMO. We lose a lot of production after this year.

While this is true, it's a lot different than this year IMO. For all the hype entering this year, IMO it was centered around our playmakers on offense (WRs/RB) and breakout CB's/Secondary. Next season will be the opposite, losing skill position players (especially on offense), but we will (should) feel much more comfortable with both the offensive and defensive lines. Complete 180 for me personally going into this season.

Yep. And it remains to be seen if that’ll be good enough to kickstart recruiting the way we need it to do.

Getting to 6 wins after the start this season would be a really good coaching job, and I’m here to say it so that no one comes after me for being negative. BUT, in March next year, are we talking about how good the finish was or how bad the start was? How will we feel? How will recruits feel? That’s yet to be seen.

I think we all expected 6-8 wins this season so, on the whole, we should say Pruitt met expectations - although he took a bumpy road to get there.

I’d then expect 6-8 again next season, and like I said, whether he survives a 6 win season probably totally depends on when those wins come and how the losses look.

Read my last sentence..secondly Clemson just won the natty last year.Regardless of wins against ranked teams I’m surprised they are sitting at 5
I think the UNC game hurt them for sure. But last year...was last year. Honestly doesn't matter anyway. Clemson will get in their ONE ranked opponent eventually...versus the mighty Wake Forest. And if they win out, they are in. Other 4 have to play each other. Lucky Clemson doesn't lmao.

Maybe I missed it, but is something up with Roman Harrison? Is he injured or just sitting to RS?
