Swain not buying CJP explanation on Maurer

Saying this morning that there is no way that Maurer was physically cleared to play vs UAB but then didn’t play.
Says he said that to protect Maurer and confuse the competition.
Says if he was healthy he would play ahead of someone with a cast on his hand.
Also said that CJP has no faith in Shrout.

I respectfully disagree.

I think if he needed Maurer, he would have played him against UAB.

But he didn't want to chance a reoccurrence of concussion. An extra week off made that much less likely.

Pruitt is doing him no favors pulling him like he did after one series. JT should’ve played the whole first half at least.

I don't know about that but I think he should have gotten about 2-3 more series in the 2nd have after the outcome of the game was no longer in doubt.

Do people not follow football or just randomly decide when to spew garbage from their mouths?

He can't redshirt buddy.

You're about to be told Maurer has played in 5 games already. Several times.
"NCAA amends the redshirt rule to allow players to play in up to four games per year without losing a season of eligibility. "

Are you people living under a rock? If Mauer doesn't play again, he can get a medical redshirt...

Player obtains a medical redshirt by applying for one through the NCAA following a season when they meet each of the following requirements:
  • The player must have suffered an injury during their senior year of high school, or during one of their four eligible seasons for college competition. (This does not provide for players who are already redshirting a season and are injured in practice.)
  • The injury suffered must be "incapacitating", meaning it must be a season-ending injury.
  • The injury must occur during the first half of the season.
  • The player must have competed in no more than 30% of the season or four games, whichever is greater.

Well first of all, smartass, wth do you mean " you people "?

Second, what does living under a rock have to do with anything?

Next, why you have to include me? I was just telling you what others was going to tell you, I didn't say it was true.

Last, its my understanding he might be able to apply for it, but it doesn't necessarily mean hell get it. You said he would.

Hey Behr, lighten up, and try to sleep tonight, didn't mean to quote you in my response, but if you're offended by "you people", you need to get a life. Alas, for the others that responded, get out from under your rock.

Pruitt likes Shrout just fine. Shrout is a redshirt Freshman. He likes him as much as anyone could like a REDSHIRT FRESHMAN! No coach in the country, not one, would willingly admit to preferring a rs freshman as the best option. CJP actually has a pretty good get out of jail free card to play. His upperclassman is banged up, so is his “stud” underclassman. I assure you, from that perspective at least, brotha Jeremy loves him some JT.

Agreed. Behr-ctfo.

Do people still actually believe BM has suffered concussions?
Post proof that says he didn't and I'll believe it until then everything I've read/heard says he had concussions...I'm open to seeing something different though, I'll be waiting for your proof.

Might want to read that last bullet point again and then Google "Brian Maurer 2019 game logs".

Even I've got access to Google under this fancy rock.

Maurer is cleared, but he hasn't been able to hit the broadside of a barn in practice since he came back. It's that simple.

No, stats aren't misleading. NOBODY in the NCAA has a QB that consistently throws for 350 yards 3 TDs and 2 interceptions a game, NOBODY, and it's not even close and if they are throwing 2 Ints a game then they are a LOSING program! Pruitt's offensive philosophy is never gonna be a throw it around the whole game anyway, at least not until he has a gamechanger at the position of QB and a stable of extra talented wide receivers, something we currently do not have on the roster. As for the medical redshirt I see it happen every year in our business and if he doesn't play another snap the rest of the year you can bet your paycheck that he's going to apply for a medical redshirt and may very well get it. He's only played 6 quarters this year, the NCAA will take that into account as well as his injury. He may start Saturday for all I know, I don't think he will, based on what I've been told he won't play again this season. Ask one of the guys on here that acts like he knows the kid, he's the same guy that's been saying BM is really not injured that bad and if he didn't get to play anymore it would be Pruitt's decision to not play him. He also said BM can make throws that only 2 NFL QBs can make so take that into account when you get his answer.

Ok folks it's over, the self proclaimed expert/ neurologist/ law scholar/ QB guru/ recruiting expert/ scam artist has spoken. Thread over

That’s my guess. Maybe they’re holding onto hope that something improves. Maybe he was cleared as far as a concussion but has another serious issue such as a neck injury. That first injury made it look like he’d break his neck. When he came off the field, on arm was completely limp.
Could have a herniated disc which will pass or a fractured vertebrae. This would allow a person to do almost anything except jamming your head against something. He was sent to Vanderbilt to be examined but no procedures were performed. Pruitt won't take a chance if it's something that can be aggravated. I'd love to see him on the field like many other posters would too.

Hold your taters a minute. If it proves to be a case of him having the type of injury that forces him not to be able to play the rest of the season then he can apply to the NCAA for the redshirt if I'm not mistaken. The NCAA grants a lot of similiar redshirt applications.
