FSU is Pruitt's dream job? I thought, if anything, that would be Bama. Now when Saban retires, I'll be worried until that job is filled. Hopefully it's Dabo and not Pruitt.
Rumor I heard is that Smart wants the Bama job.....I don't know why he would though. He is from Georgia and played at Georgia. The logical choices are Dabo and Pruitt.

Fsu is clearly a better job

For a couple main reasons

1) better recruiting area

2) better modern history

And maybe most importantly

3) a much much much easier path to a playoff
One thing not on your list. The number of people who have fallen in love with Tallahassee is way, way, way smaller than the number of people who have fallen in love with East Tennessee.

Bama isn’t hiring Smart. He’s overrated and they know that. But I sure hope they do if Dabo says no. Best case scenario is Dabo to Bama.

Clearly too soon to make a podcast joke. I think Team ChargerBass is going to have to meet Team InVoLA at the Waffle House. If you want to pick one near the state line, we might be able to rustle the Big Blue Jimmies of some Cat fans.

Wait... we talking knife fight or hasnbrowns?asking for a friend

Hopefully Pruitt has beaten Saban a few times before then. And then he can decide if he wants to keep beating them. Maybe that is more fun than being them. CPF says it is. And in the meantime, we're back.

Agreed but is some crazy way I could see that making life easier on a coach

Less pressure

I didn't figure it was exactly like the tweet portrayed things but still, it's a little weird.

Just another tiny notch to go with the mittens, the dancing and the goofy presser answers. Good coach but just so dweebish.
The tweet was obviously a troll but it fell into the category of "too good to check."

Might get flamed for saying this but don't care. Taggart had one specific trait that made teams interested in him and it wasnt anything having to do with coaching skill.

That trait made people think he would excel in recruiting and be able to better relate to recruits and their families....is also good PR for a program.

I'm not saying that thinking is wrong in any way but should not be the main factor in hiring a guy who has not produced results. He is a much better fit as a coordinator or position coach.
You should get flamed for saying. Plenty of good black coaches and plenty of bad ones from all cultural backgrounds.

Agree with you completely. Race has nothing to do with being a good coach. Lots of great AA coaches, QBs, etc.

My point is that race was a big selling point for Taggart who has an obvious lack of success and good HC attributes. Ability to relate to players based off ethnicity is a selling point but should be way down the list after discipline, ability to motivate, recognize talent, communication skills with coaches and players, philosophy and being an all around leader of men.

When all of those boxes are checked then it can be a big plus and not before. Plenty of coaches fit the profile.
