If I'm Shrout and Maurer I transfer

you are making a lot of assumptions here. Didn’t JT play most of the second half? Also to assume that you know motive for decisions made is a stretch.
Buddy did you even watch the game ? Tell me exactly how much time JT spent in the game. You must have dreamed and in your dream JT played most of the 2nd half.

Go to a school where you can get to play.

It's all about playing the game. Leave watching the game to fans
You must be afraid of competition. I don't think either of these QBs is afraid of competition, especially before Fall practice starts next Fall. They also realize that in today's game , a QB does not usually last for a full season without something happening which gives them an opportunity to play and show what they can do.

He is already a favorite to start with almost everyone but Pruitt. Pruitt is a defensive minded guy. He wants to control the clock by runs and win with defense. But we dont have the defensive players Pruitt is used to having at his previous stops. Our defense is playing well but not good enough to win if we cant score at least 28 offensive scores just my opinion.

He is the favorite to start with Pruitt too. As evidenced by the fact that he starts when healthy. Pruitt’s defensive philosophy has nothing to do with whether or not Maurer starts.

Slack, really, he made the same poor throws before the injury, the same ones every game since he's been here unless he's about to get smoked. The guy has no touch, can't drop one in on a guy running the go, overthrows it or leaves it short. Rifles the ball at the dump off. Throws behind the slant. Throws a floater on the post. He's just not a good QB, period. The other guys have the problems of experience and youth, problems that improve, but they can make the throws.
They can make the throws, but I don't think Shrout quite knows what he's looking at and Maurer is on under 50% and has more picks than TDs.

There aren't any good answers right now.

Looks to me like he's the favorite to start by Pruitt too... when he's healthy.

Let's tell our backups to transfer because they are not ready to run the team yet. That's how you rebuild a program. /sarcasm

We got to win two more games to get to a bowl and I don't know how we do that with JG at QB. Maybe the defense will play an almost perfect game and that is what will have to happen. I doubt with JG we can out 20 on the board against either missouri or kentucky unless we get some turnovers.

We win out regardless of who is at qb.

I'm convinced that Pruitt isn't going to play these freshmen, both of which are far better than JG.
Shrout gets the start... 2 poor running calls up the middle and then a pass play with no back in the backfield
signaling the D that it's a pass, under immediate pressure the gets rid of the ball.
Then JG comes in...

Shrout never got a chance.

Maurer didn't even get to play.

If these 2 freshmen are not ready then that is on the coaches.
JG is terrible yet he plays instead of playing the freshmen so they will develope.

This tell me that Shrout and Maurer are not being considered for next year.

Should they transfer?

If Maurer does get a medical redshirt, he is not going to transfer and we will see him again. He is happy at UT and I know that for a FACT. He may or may not be trying for a medical, but I will wait till I here it from Fulmer or Pruitt before I believe it though. GBO!

Absolutely, I believe you are on to something

Maurer is being held to insure he’s healthy.
Shrout would likely still be in had he not thrown that pass into double coverage.

Throwing a pass into double coverage... is that worse than changing the play and giving Bama a 14 point boost. How about throwing an interception in the endzone to UAB???

When the coach keeps losing games because he plays a QB, JG, that is terrible instead of playing a freshman QB that is not only better than JG but that could use the experience for next season (dude this season is gone) it says 1 of 2 things. Either the coach is not capable of developing talent or he is waiting for a recruit next season.

Either way these two young men deserve a shot at playing and they are not going to get it.

All of you crying over this post aren't complaining about transfers coming to UT so why cry about 2 young men transferring to a team that might give them a shot?

Because you are posting on Sunday instead of watching game film and trying like heck to get better?

I don't have to watch film, but I have reviewed the game twice today, too conclude that JG is not very good at QB and with a left hand injury should not have played.

Also it doesn't take an analyst to see that Pruitt is sticking with under par QB JG instead of giving experience to the freshmen QBs, that in my opinion are both better than JG already.

But my analysis of the season so far is that Pruitt is playing JG as not to scare off the QB recruit from Marietta GA and that neither Shrout or Maurer are going to play next year.

So why are you crying about their transferring to another school that might play them?
