Mercurio: Obama has a trump card - National Journal - MSNBC.com

WASHINGTON - John McCain 's campaign now says it might play the explosive Jeremiah Wright card after all. It makes some sense, strategically. Polls seem to be tightening, and the election is going to be decided by a white, male plumber named Joe.
The question now is this: Will Barack Obama play the Sarah Palin card? It's no longer the risk Democrats once believed. And it might be his best chance to dampen a late-breaking GOP surge.

Thoughts?

Do not know which polls you are looking at. National Polls are widening and the Battleground States are +- 2 points either way. Bottom Line hold your ground and play Offense. He has got the Electoral Votes to win. Hold your ground and play Offense. There is going to be a shocker state in the South that is going to go Obama's way and nobody saw it coming. Democrats are voting in Groves and so are independent voters. John Mc Cain continues to take out his 9mm and shoot his toes off one by one.

What's sad is that he is a much better Man that what he is coming across as in this race. The Republican Strategist of this election has ruined his Campaign and that is so sad. The worst part about it is that he followed their advice and continues to do so. This is not the John McCain of 2000 or of this year's primary election.

The last 14 days he has offered nothing of any substance to change swing voters minds. His and Palin's Campaign speeches are actually helping Obama because they are so focused on belittling him and not dealing with any issues. Free Advertising for Obama. He might as well call Obama's Grandmother a prostitute.

As For Palin, She still does not know what the VP does. Curic caught her off guard and she cuted her way through it, but you would have thought that she might have had the correct answer by the time the 3rd grader asked her the same question a month and a half later. What a Pick for VP. Basic Civics 101

There's a surge? What surge? All this time there's a surge and I don't even know about it?

I am surprised they didn't play the Wright card harder, anyway. It bothers me and I lean towards Obama. Probably time to throw the long ball so this makes some sense.

If you saw it coming, I'm guessing someone else did. Why do democrats get to vote in Groves and Reps in booths? Is that cheating?

This level of English and you're poking fun at Palin knowing less than a 3rd grader.

Powell would have been much more likely to be Obama's running mate than McCain's. Didn't you see "Meet the Press" this past Sunday?

Sarcasm...... I know it is hard to grasp.....

McCain should have chose Powell.

Problem with Powell is that he is too much of moderate and not conservative enough for the base.

Kathryn Ann Bailey Hutchison of Texas would have been the best choice of a woman.

Absolutely. McCain/Powell ticket would have been much better, although I'm still not sure it would have made much of a difference.

Powell does not want to be on a repub ticket period.
