My old college buddy was from Perry County....he told me a little bit about his visit there when he was in HS ......he didn't like to talk about it much....what little he told me freaked me out!!
waaaay tldrHere's one of my experiences. During my senior year of high school I was driving to a party at a cabin in the Pittman Center area of Sevier County. For those of you that aren't familiar with that area -- it's near Gatlinburg, but in the sticks. This was before smart phones and GPS, so I was relying solely on written directions to make my way to the cabin. Needless to say, I found myself driving on a single lane gravel road with no cabins or signs of civilization in sight at 10 o'clock at night. I was lost, but I decided to keep driving anyway in hopes the road would lead to another main roadway. Well, soon after I realized I was lost I spotted an old rundown house that looked like it had not been lived in for at least 20 years. As I drove by, I swear I spotted a small girl in a plain white dress standing on the porch of this house. I just caught the figure out of the corner of my eye as my headlights hit the area of the house. That freaked me out quite a bit, but I wrote it off as my mind playing tricks on me or maybe a reflection off the windows of the house. Then I saw her again. A couple more miles down the road I spotted her standing on the side of the road facing away from me just staring into the distance. I hit my brakes and just sat there about 50 yards away from her. A few seconds after I stopped she turned and walked into the woods. I got out of there as fast as I could after that. The next day I went back just to see if there was possibly a house in the area and someone was just playing a trick on me....... There was nothing besides the dilapidated house a couple miles up the road. That was BY FAR the creepiest thing I have ever experienced.
She was afraid ya'll were going to steal from her meth lab!!!There was a woman lived in our holler in Kentucky. Everyone swore she was possessed, and she had 2 daughters. Me and my buddy were fishing in the creek (just catching crawdads and minnows), and her youngest walked up behind us and had a shotgun, she was around 7. I was probably12, and asked her what she was doing. She said "my mommy told me to come kill you".. That was freaky, I took the gun and took it to her uncle. Little brat always starred at me funny after that![]()

no van...no river,,,so nois that @CornFlake house?
I'm from Robertson County and grew up about 40 minutes away from the BW cabin.
I was there one night, the last time I went back, with 2 other guys and two girls. Was the summer of 1980. We saw a horse buggy roll across the field at the side of the cabin and disappear. We all walked around to the edge of the woods and I swear what looked like a really big translucent dim lit body move across the yard between our car and the cabin and we heard a loud explosion that sounded like a transform exploding from behind the cabin.
All 5 of us were scared chitless and about 50 yards from the car, but whatever that was and the sound came from that area. We were all whispering and the girls were crying and from behind us coming from the woods we heard "you don't belong here" and and swift breeze fawking ice cold came from the same direction.
We all took off to the car got in a left.
As we were going beside the cabin one if the guys and one of the girls said they saw a woman standing in a window and her face looked like it was frozen.
It has affected my life. That was real.
Sumthangs in this world you just caint explain.I've been here 10 years and this is the first time I've talked about it here. I've not talked about it to anyone here in Florida and I've been here 21 years.
None of us talked about it to other people because we were told not to, and were literally terrified to. There are some things I'll never talk about.
