So what's going to happen if we get way out in front of UAB and he wants to play the backups, not to say the freshmen (lol). Who do we see?

Looks like UAB is averaging about 30 ppg against crap competition. I think our defense is good enough to keep them under that mark, I’m guessing around 17-20 points total. If our OL plays anywhere close to the last couple weeks we will wear that team down quickly

Chatta lives!! Now where is ole Sleegro? Hopefully everyone is coming out of hibernation.

I'd love to see us come out and dominate this weekend like a good Tennessee team should do against UAB, but my gut just says it's going to stay uncomfortably close. I think we will win, but don't believe a loss would be all that shocking (really disappointing, obviously, but not shocking).

Seek help, bruh. The struggle (BVS) is real.

Yeah, their numbers can be befuddling at times. Figured I had to share though. Not sure how they calculate the adjusted QBR and all that, but I assume it eliminates drops and does some similar things.

Adjusted comp% excludes drops and throwaways. So instead of the official 11/19, PFF has him 13/18. 1 drop by Byrd and Gray each.

Dont root for either unless it has weight for UT. Having said that, I think UF wins.

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. There probably isn’t any short term benefit to us for either team winning because at this point one or the other is going to the SECCG this year. I’m trying to think how we benefit long term.

I could go for UF losing followed by Auburn stomping UGA next week off their bye to knock them both out.

I thought of this myself, but UGA would still go to Atlanta in this situation. No other team in the East will finish with two or less losses.

My thinking is that UF has fairly recently won the East and getting drilled in the title game didn’t help McElwain much. Since Kirby’s 2nd year at UGA, they have created this image of being the next Bama-level dynasty and their recruiting has taken off accordingly. It was never real bad under Richt, but Smart definitely kicked it up to another level in part on this perception that they were The Next Big Thing. I am pretty sure their fan base expected to have won a Natty by now. If they lose and don’t even win the East this year, that’s a clear three year decline from SEC Winner/National Championship runner up, to SEC East Winner only, to not even winning the division. That may not cause many in this year’s recruiting class to jump ship, but the cracks will start to show. The fan base will start questioning whether Kirby really the guy, and it will start to have an effect going forward.

We target so many more players in Georgia than we do in Florida, I think it is most in our interest for UGA to take a step back to the pack, even if it means Florida steps up this year.

Wouldn't say "scared" but both Mizzou and UK can give us serious fits and are probably "pick ems" by Vegas or 2-3 pt favs for having home field. UK has a great OL and Bowden is a threat. Mizzou is an enigma. We could get good home Mizzou or really bad away Mizzou. Hopefully their away team stays in Columbia that weekend.
Bowden is great but our coaches have proved over the last two years we can scheme up a 1 dimensional running attack.

I see it as GA gets hurt by not making the playoffs as expected because Kirby has had time to get his players. Either a loss to Auburn or in SEC championship can do that. Need to stop FL momentum.

From Blazer Talk (UAB Message board)

Tennessee has been playing pretty well lately. Not sure this is the same Tennessee that lost to Georgia State and BYU earlier in the year.
They're up 20 on South Carolina in the 4th quarter.
ESPN currently gives us a 15.2% chance to win this game.
This was by far the most complete game UT has played in the last 2 seasons. They’re young and starting to figure this stuff out. Pruitt will make sure they don’t overlook us. We’re not exactly the body bag game they thought it would be either. I expect a 60 min war
Blazers are 10.5 point dogs
I have seen a few folks on Twitter who are shocked that the line is that big. Maybe they are fooled by the records (or the rankings that have us above them). I am not an SEC apologist by any means, and I certainly don’t think Tennessee is any good. But what do you think their record would be with our schedule? And vice-versa?
I would imagine they would probably be 6-1 or 7-0, and we would likely be 2-5 or 1-6.
I know we want to be an elite G-5 program that competes on the level with the P-5 schools. Last year’s team made definite strides in that direction and went toe to toe with Texas A&M (but still lost by double digits). So far this season there’s no evidence that we are on that same level.
I hope we get a lot of hurt players back on Saturday and come ready to play, and that we prove that we are taking the next step. I would love to get a win in Knoxville, but have no illusion that we are there yet.
yeah, i dont see why people would be shocked by that line.
At one point there was talk of them being 0-8 coming into this week. But in their last 3 weeks they beat Miss State (granted, not a good team), gave Alabama as big a scare as they've had all year, and beat the South Carolina team that knocked off Georgia and scared Florida in back to back weeks.
There's no reason that the line should be any closer than it is
As mentioned above, the team we play Saturday isn't the team we saw in September. They've really improved. Bad timing for us. As much as I hate to say it, with a 10.5 point line, I'd put my money on the Vols.
UTK has a lot of young talent particularly on the LOS. They were starting 2 true freshman at tackle early season. 5 star freshmen but still freshmen. Its mid season. They arent as young anymore and its starting to show in the win column and in the ability to establish a ground game and protect the Qb. They will be prepared for UAB. No sneaking in for a win. We will have to win the LOS to win this game, unless we reap a large harvest of turnovers, and I dont think we are there yet on the offensive line. But Ill be there with the family.
My oldest daughter just received her acceptance letter to the UT school of architecture on Friday, but she is a passionate UAB fan. Should be a fun game.
Surprised, Its, knot a 25.5 point line with a 100k in the seats and plenty boats hope the Blazers, enjoy the surroundings and play it safe and come home ready to play out the remainder of the Season, plus they will have SEC refs - would mix it up get the jr. going early and often cause Tyler,s throwing time will be reduced and db's will be like white on rice, gonna have to run the draws and fakes right up the middle, If, you can cause; they Blazers will see speed like they have knot seen this year. You aint gonna like to hear this, like Watson told me, you gonna have to run those cut backs on all plays and positions. Watson; Had em beat then, they Got excited and sugared, that won't happen with Coach Clark.
I've been looking forward to this one since it was announced and was very optimistic about the match up at the beginning of the season. However, Tennessee has steadily improved and they've got some swagger going into Saturday night. My main concern is we haven't played a team that matches up to UT's size, physicality, etc this year. The good news is we're 6-1 with a chance to repeat as CUSA champs, it's not a must win for us. I'd love to see us compete, keep it within the spread, and possibly walk out with a W. If our defense plays well, TJ makes smart passing decisions, and we establish a run game we have a shot. The margin for error as we've seen before in these types of games is slim. Regardless it's going to be a fun trip for us fans and there's going to be a great atmosphere Saturday night.

You've brought me around to this view.
I'll have to live with GA winning Sat. But then losing to Aubbie and then losing again to LSU.

If we win out in the SEC and UGA loses to Florida, Auburn and A&M we would end up 2nd in the SEC East . That would make me so happy, I hate UGA and their overinflated sense of greatness.
Also beautiful. That's a scenario no one has posted, insofar as i know.
