I know we have some gamblers in here that like to play the odds and I’m just wondering!..Respect or Disrespect?

Tyler Johnston III, SO QB for UAB, has thrown 15 TD passes and 10 interceptions so far this year. UAB has only given up 5 total sacks on the year and 10 quarterback hurries. TJ had a clean game the first week of the season against FCS opponent Alabama State but has thrown at least 1 interception is each of the last 6 games. He threw 4 against WKU and 2 against Rice. 3 of the 5 sacks allowed came against WKU and 2 of the QBH. Rice also sacked him once and had 2 QBH. UAB’s rushing offense gains 3.77 yards per carry against bottom tier FBS teams.

Question: Over/under - we gain 2 interceptions this weekend? Since Pruitt has indicated we need to maintain our intensity and aggressiveness heading down the stretch this year, and given that those of us in the stands never take a play off, I’ll take the over. jmo.

yeah, hard to get a read on this team. their record is great....sitting at 6-1, and they've not necessarily struggled to put points on the board against anyone not named Western Kentucky.

but the rest of their schedule is awwwful.

bill clark is a good coach, and i'm gonna wager that he has his team believing they can come up here and pull a w.

i just really hope we remember week 1 and 2, and execute the way we have been the past 3 or 4 weeks. do that, bring the same energy and physicality, and we'll be fine...especially on the line of scrimmage....

show up and expect to roll out the helmet and get a W...and we can see a repeat of GSU.....

this game is all about us and how we approach it, period.

To be honest I did notice him on one play...unfortunately he happened to have his back to the line of scrimmage. To be fair I have stopped looking for him during games. Hoping that both him and Savion both take big steps next year/end of this year.

Exactly the time I noticed him probably. He was getting pushed back and turned around

Plane took off on Saturday just after USC had gone up 21-17. Expected to land and see something like 38-27 USC final. Couldn't believe the 41-21 final score. Also my score app screwed up and said JJ had two rushing TDs in addition to his two receiving TDs. I thought he had turned in the greatest Vols performance in history for a few minutes.

Similar experience. Couldn't watch till almost midnight on DVR. Exact same routine as the UGA and Bama games...watched a solid 1st half all the way through, but my nerves couldn't take it and it was past 1am. So at the half I fast forwarded with my eyes closed until I stopped at the end to see the final score. UGA, all downhill. Bama, downhill (but then was very pleasantly surprised to rewind just minutes back in the 4th quarter to land on the goalline fumble and realized it was dang closer than the score)...but BVS had me expecting similar disappointment with a much closer score. Expected 34-31 and feeling deflated. My eyes cheated and I glanced partway through the fast forward and saw 31-21...NO WAY! ARE YOU KIDDING ME...then I kept watching while fast forwarding, still a bit uneasy...then I saw 34-21...yesss....41-21 YESSS I jumped up and immediately started cursing at my TV and throwing double Gauldens, all directed at Muschamp. Reminded me of the 2016 Florida catharsis. Getting that monkey off our back was huge.

I would expect some kind of letdown but i would take us to cover. Especially being a night game.
i don't expect a let down at all. i get why it's easy to say that, homecoming game sandwiched between conf games, and coming off the win.

but i expect this team is still pretty damn hungry sitting at 3-5 with what looks like could be a dynamite finish on the horizon....i know the staff will be. and i just won't let myself think they are going to look past this game.

While UAB has shown good pass blocking, they are 116th in run blocking Line Yards. Their workhorse only averages 3.3 YPC, while 2 guys that get fewer carries both average over 5. A bit of a Hurd situation it appears to me. We should be able to dedicate fewer resources to stopping the run than normal and focus on pass defense and creating turnovers. Would expect a heavy dose of exotic zones to confuse and create turnovers.

Their DL on the other hand is #2 nationally in LY and #13 in sack rate. Granted, that's an awful schedule, but it shouldn't fool us either. We heard Charlotte had a very good run D last year and most ignored it due to schedule, yet they shut us down as well as anyone all year. Hopefully we don't take this game like Charlotte and just bang our heads against the wall (obviously our run game is significantly improved, but still). They have no answer for our big WRs and I hope we absolutely go ballistic with those weapons.

Honestly not sure if a hyped up UK coming off a bye is harder than Missouri or not
3 weeks ago I would have said Mizzou was better but now it's a toss up. Mizzou does have to play UGA and Florida before us and we get them after a buy so hopefully Mizzou gets knocked around a little.

The rest of our schedule doesn't scare me. What scares me is a young team with no experience of having success getting complacent and laying an egg one week.
