DT came in around 225 or less and was lanky so while having a bigger overall frame than Ojulari, they are similar in some comparisons. 19 has spent 5 years in college S&C program to build his body. Just see Baron bulking up when lifting in college S&C full time but time will tell. I'm very happy to load up with these versatile 5 Tech type players as it will really allow our DL to be multiple and have proper depth to compete all season.
I would also add it is tough to compare 40 times at these camps to game speed and burst when rushing the passer.
I am sure he's told what to do. I know him personally and he's a really good dude. I like it way better than third down for what.Kudos to the crowd for bringing it all night and often drowning out that God forsaken piped in GnR music. Just need someone to pull the plug on Jarnigan. We get it Jeffrey, it's thiiiiiird down!
Why do I get a Chris Weatherd vibe from Ojulari?
Dudes had/have good linebacker measurables yet both were/are sold as edge rushers. I’m just not seeing the 225-240 lb edge rusher types being that successful.
Go ahead and @ me. You won’t change my mind.
Vandy has something like it for baseball. Except it's not for walkons. It's a foundation that raises money that allows them to offer more than the allotted scholarships. They had that walkon program down to a professional science! Park those big farmboys on a 100 plus roster, steroid em up and by their redshirt junior season they were NFL ready.
I don't disagree with the comment about camps, but they attended the same one and that's their measurables.
Let me put this as simple as I can, why is Ojulari a better pass rusher than Baron? Because that's what it appears to be you're saying...if you don't think that's the case then I'm confused why you're countering all the points that are being made.
I personally would rather us take an edge guy who has the size. Baron's length and frame are just larger already than Ojulari...and without a clear speed difference I prefer size. Taylor out of HS was 6'4" 230, but that lanky body was also a 4.6 guy. Maybe Ojulari ends up being elite, who knows. Who cares though? He doesn't want to be here so he's off my radar and going on about "missing" on him won't change the fact we still need to add edge rushers, and Baron is one of the best on the board we can still add...

Last comment on this debate as I don't want to continue spinning wheels, but I am not saying Ojulari is better than Baron as a pass rusher. I'm saying it appears they are going to play two different positions and the one Ojulari appears to be set to play, is very unknown and overall concerning with depth.
Your original comment I responded to was that with the Whitehaven kids and potentially Grimes and Baron we will be solid at Edge and will soften the blow with missing Ojulari. My point is that none of them appear set to play Edge and I view Baron as down 5 Tech lineman so we even with Ojulari we need more players. Again, bring on all the DL we can get as that is a great position to have a surplus of talent.
Also, agree to disagree, but Taylor was lighter than 230 when he got to campus. He was playing some WR in high school and I recall in the high school postseason all star game playing OLB in a 4-3 and looking skinny. He was always someone who had the frame to put good weight on.
and 3 of that is home field, so they're basically saying we're less than a TD favorite at home for homecoming game.
cool.
