Didn’t the folks at TBA do that this past year? I didn’t make any games but seems folks liked the atmosphere a lot. But yea indoors is a different story. Obvious Solution: build a roof over Neyland.

I mean I would have loved to get Ojulari don't get me wrong.

But I feel like with Eason, French, McDonald all on board and the potential to still snag Grimes & Baron...we can be solid at that position.

Grimes is a WDE & Baron a SDE.

Hardy & Omari I think both are bigger bodies and would be DL players, so not quite the same type of player as Ojulari. Maybe I'm just pipe dreaming, but I hope we land Baron and flip Bryn Tucker, one of the best senior classes from Catholic in awhile would love to land all 3 of them.

I remember Dan Alexander....I was happy when the Titans drafted him, because I remember he carved up the UT defense in a bowl game. He was very underwhelming.

Doesn't look like we are getting Grimes and none of the others are Edge players so it does hurt the roster mgmt moving forward. Biscuit Bennett is coming on, but otherwise its a bunch of unknowns moving into next season after loosing D Taylor.

Our down lineman rotation on D will be solid, but just gotta find some pass rushers as there is going to be a deficit at Edge.

They are both down lineman. He’s more of a stand up edge rushing LB like Taylor. Not saying all is loss but those two are not positional replacements.

Plus we need all the elite players we can get.

Roman Harrison’s an edge and a potentially great one. And Biscuit’s Kivon’s daddy.

Did it come off to anyone else like Jahmir was letting out a lot of built up aggression from not playing recently? Boy was playing angry which led to a few dumb penalties early. Jennings had to calm him down some. He needs to play imo but also needs to smart with that aggression and not full on grab a dudes face ask with both hands like he is in a street fight 😂

Anyone think we go after a few of the Arkansas/Ole Miss kids...especially those from TN?

A few I still like, a lot.

Omari Thomas (not committed to Ole Miss, but that's supposedly our biggest competition here)
Darin Turner (4 star in state kid at WR with great size...PLEASE GO AFTER HIM)
De'Arre McDonald (high 3 star borderline 4 star CB with good size at basically 6'0" from Murfreesboro committed to Ole MIss)
Jabari Small (3 star APB, I'd rather have young but he seems to not want to stay in Knoxville and this kid is graded higher than Hodge and I think you should always try to take 2 RBs whenever you can)


If 24/7 is accurate we got 16 right now and I'd say 23 or so is probably where we end up. Could get to 25, but would require a bit more attrition with current team. Only 1 DL in the boat right now, so obviously want another 2 or 3 for sure, would probably take as many as 5 DL if they can get the guys we're trying to get.

Grimes, Baron, Omari, Hardy obviously are the top priorities with the last 6 or so spots I think...if I was going to throw out a wildcard possible flip for this class, I'd lean on Jordan Burch (5 star SDE from SC). We win out like I think we can and that's a name/kid we might be able to pull.

Haha, ok... I like the kid but Roman Harrison has done absolutely nothing to this point outside of looking like a bodybuilder. Let's see him record a sack before we anoint him a "potential great one". He has potential, but again even with him we look to have a big deficit at the position moving forward, especially if Crouch stays at ILB, which IMO he should.

He’s further along than Bennett was at the same point. And that’s why it’s called POTENTIAL. Same applies to Ojulari...he ain’t sacked a freaking grocery yet in college.

And he’s never been referred to as Biscuit Jr.

Our edge players are typically OLB (which is what D. Taylor & Bennet both are). The size of the Memphis LBs makes me think 1 or 2 of them could be moved to OLB. We also have Crouch/Roman on campus already.

D. Taylor, Bituli are the leaders in sacks on team so far but the rest of the guys leading the way are all returning next year.

Emerson, Bumphus, Johnson, Butler, Solomon, Middleton, Bennett

Ojulari at his size was most likely coming here to be an OLB for edge pressure.

I mean I think you for sure bring in more DL/LB types...

but it's one area we're not going to be hurting either, Taylor & Bituli are the only guys we lose (to graduation) from the front 7.

Gooden should be back.

Butler & Bumphus have both shown some great flashes already. Big time excited about Emerson, Garland, Bennett, Roman & Crouch moving forward as well. So much potential and they are all underclass men still.

Im not going to argue anymore, but my overall point is we will have 2-3 Edge players on the entire roster next year and one of which has never done a thing. This D is dependent on good Edge play to generate pressure and set the edges in the run game.

We needed Ojulari, who is very skilled in pass rush. Maybe Baron will slim down a bit and play JACK, but he looks like hes gonna be a 275 lb 5 Tech in the future.

If I remember correctly, Harrison spent his HS career as an undersized NT and is now having to learn to play the edge, where you sometimes have to drop back in coverage. I think the staff is still excited about his potential.
