Needs to be a combination of speed and breakdown tackling ability.

Does no good to put a great tackler on him if they can’t catch him.
Does no good to put a real fast guy on him if they can’t tackle him.

Given how little they throw it, maybe even one of our Corners? Say Bryce Thompson? He’s fast, and pretty good in space.
Way I see it, I'd take speed over tackling. Goal 1 is to reach him. At least hit him if spy can't make the tackle, and if spy can't hit him, then redirect or slow him. More than 1 way to skin a cat. But if spy can't get close to him, he's going to have his way.

Pruitt has been good at stopping 1 dimensional teams. Though we haven't really played a pure wildcat guy either. Will be an interesting challenge.

I had to work Saturday and missed the 1st half and a portion of the 2nd. But after watching the replay, I want to say this on behalf of our foes; when Wanya Morris was lying injured on the field, the first man to signal (and signal emphatically) to the Tennessee sideline, was #95 from the SC defense.

Just one of the little things that show me honor and chivalry are not yet dead.

The flashers are IG models Julia Rose and Lauren Summer if some of y’all want to know. Both got banned indefinitely from all MLB ballparks.

They said they did it for breast cancer. 😂

I support the cause. I volunteer to do free breast exams all the time.

For some reason they usually say no when they find out I'm not a doctor.

He's faster than you are giving him credit for.
He certainly didn't look slow running the wild cat.
Also some teams love a person with leadership skills and zeal that JJ possesses. Teams feed off guys like JJ. Just like the Vols team does. JJ's play inspires momentum when a team needs it

Yeah, it’s kinda like when Patterson got drafted. He was dinged for his route-running and wasn’t the perfect model of wide receiver technical skills but he was electric when you got the ball in his hands in space and had a nose for the end zone. That’s what made him a first rounder.

Granted, JJ is probably a tenth or two slower in the 40 than CP and he’s a different type of player in general, but I think he is similar in that his character, his intangibles and his knack for being a playmaker will grade him higher than his pure position skill numbers would seem to warrant.

@LA Vol

I know you responded to this last week and said we already try to get some kids on non-athletic scholarships.

Just curious if there would be anything wrong with offering kids a non-athletic scholarship with a stipend 2 or 3x the size of COA stipends the players normally get. Would kids have any reason NOT to take this? Figure we could get 5+ kids on these a year for a few hundred grand in Y1 and grow to 600-800k by Y4 then level out.

And then we'd only be limited to the 110 man roster by having 20 or more 3*, 4*, 5* walkons. Surely some boosters - @Atlanta VOL and his crew - could help fund some of these scholarships, or hell even all fans could microdonate to the scholarship fund and easily get enough to make this happen.

Just not sure if there's something I'm missing as to why it wouldn't work or be allowed.

Kudos to the crowd for bringing it all night and often drowning out that God forsaken piped in GnR music. Just need someone to pull the plug on Jarnigan. We get it Jeffrey, it's thiiiiiird down!
Our whole music/fan involvement during breaks, timeouts, third downs, etc sucked.

Because they are definitely gonna check her ID if she decides to go to a game, right?
