Rewatching the game and one thing should be obvious going forward. No reason why we shouldn't take at least 7 or 8 deep shots a game. Offensive line has been protecting really well, and everyone we have left should have just as hard of a time guarding Jennings and Calloway as South Carolina did. Opens up an offense so much when you take deep shots like that.
Thought that should have been obvious to Chaney from day 1. But whatever, he is definitely starting to understand our power lies in our big WRs and the deep ball now. As long as he keeps pounding deep shots, I think offensive success will continue. And it's a win-win with long shots because it should spread the box and improve run success. No reason not to consistently lean on it. We are not, and have not been since Dobbs, a possession and long-drive offense. We absolutely need big plays and we have to accept living and dying with them until further notice.

Also, I love Pruitt at halftime - "gotta be more aggressive". For a defensive HC, he is very unorthodox. He accepts risk and desires aggressiveness offensively and that gives me so much hope. Far too many defensive minds still want "their way" to win ball games and it simply isn't 1960 any more.

Only thing I'm waiting on now from CJP is a surprise onside! I thought he may use it after the MC touchdown when we kicked from the freakin 50 or so...not much risk there, but I think he has a lot more trust than he did last year and doesn't feel the necessity any longer. But that gambler is still inside him and we'll see it once or twice down the stretch I bet!

Pruitt's reasoning on the QB rotation.

Basically Shrout hadn't played much fb but they needed to get him in. They didn't want JG getting hurt in a tight game and then throwing that kind of Pressure (everything on JT's shoulders) without easing him in first. Not when they had another option - the way they actually did it in the game.

Don't think it could've worked out any better. None of them were under pressure to carry the team, only to do their job.

Enjoy the win. Commits coming.
Sometimes, as recruiting beatniks, we actually lose sight of the goal of this entire parade - win ball games!! We've spent a lot of time celebrating recruiting wins the last 10 years.

Maybe now winning ball games can become the main thing we celebrate once again!

Man...I'll be the first to admit I grilled the staff for their lack of preparedness at QB, especially to begin the season. Not just QB1, but QB2 and QB3 looked downright poor too.

And I'm not forgiving or forgetting any of that. The entire team has to be significantly better prepared coming into the season, compared to what we've seen the past 2 years. And we'll never know how much of that was on the staff or the particular kids themselves (likely some blame to distribute to both).

But I sit here today absolutely in awe of how well our QBs played yesterday. And BM and JG played well last week (barring 1 dumb play), and again vs Miss St and UGA. We have absolutely DEVELOPED 2 or even 3 QBs seemingly out of nowhere.

This has been NOTHING like seeing Jones, Peterman, Mcbride, young JG, and many others trot out there under Butch and look horrific. This is a whole new level of competency.

A round of motherlovin applause!

Something changed in that Georgia game. Over the past 4 games we have been a pretty good football team. Fans of South Carolina and MSU are looking for reasons to be mad at their coaches. Reality, we are just better than them.

Trying to tell my SCAR friend this but people just see losses to Georgia State and multiple score losses to UGA and Bama without any context.

No win this season will move the needle for non fans and that’s fine. We will keep building and go ahead and keep doubting till it’s too late

Tell your SCAR friend to fire that urine cake Muschamp. Tell him that is the problem. ;)

The bowl win might.

I wish John ward could have done the Jennings catch when he broke 3 tackles. THAT would have been EPIC
Really wish Bob would call our games with more passion and excitement. I listened to him as the players were running through the "T" and it was just ho hum with him. He didn't even say "It's FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE." He just said, "Back in a moment for the opening kickoff." Could be a positive for recruiting instate prospects if we had a Mike Keith type announcer for the Big Orange.

Are you sure this whole urine cake thing doesn't stem from the rumor that Sankey told him to stop eating the big white mint at the sec meetings a few years back?
You mean when Muschamp held a urine cake between his teeth and Pruitt freshened it up for him? I think you're right. I'd forgotten about that.
