Jennings doesn’t meet the criteria to have his number retired. But maybe we can do what LSU does with #18 or Ole Miss does with #38. It should be awarded to a player who exhibits leadership. Jennings has been instrumental in this turnaround. Not only with his play, but in his confidence and will to win.

How can we make this happen. He exhibits what it means to be a VOL through and through. He is a legend. Yes his mistake he made I see as him fighting for this team and what it’s meant to him. Could he have done it differently? Most definitely.. just glad he’s used his second chance the right way. Will always be one of my favorites

Jennings shows up to practice when he chooses to and announces to a team that Player X has earned the right to wear #15 and that player wears #15 the rest of his career.

Who's the VFL Coordinator now, maybe they could make something like this happen.

Eric Berry was always my favorite player of all time with Jauan a close 2nd. Last night he shot straight to the top of my list. Say what ever you want, but to play with the intensity that he does on a team with 3 wins is remarkable and shows his love and dedication for Tennessee Football. He was not going to be denied a victory last night and everybody on the team fed off of his energy and toughness.

We've had our share of quitters over the years, I guess every team does that faces the adversity we have for a dozen years, but J J did not quit this year, neither did Bituli, JG, TS, DT, and a host of others, and I'm grateful to them I really am! Quite honestly it has made me me resilient as a fan. If they can give that kind of effort with all disappointments then I can too!

Jauan Jennings is the offensive equivalent to Al Wilson. His leadership is equally, if not more important than his actual athletic ability. Guys like him, who have a unique, high-level combination of both, don't come around often. I wish we could have enjoyed him in better times. He deserved better.

Young tank on defense might be the next man up.Every time he is in the game I can hear pads pop and someone from the other team going backwards. Hes going to be a star.I can't believe how violent he is for a true freshman.

Lets give the AD who I am not crazy about a little credit for giving him the option to work his way back . Jennings has always been out best player when he wanted to be. Now he wants to be!!

Actually I think that actually cements his legend. People will look back on that outburst totally different years from now. See it as what it really was and what quite a few of us said back then. An extremely dedicated VFL fighting for his team by any means necessary even if it put him in the crosshairs and learning from that to actually realize his dream to help turn this program around.

JJ said at the time what everyone outside the locker room had been saying but no one inside could. He didn't execute it correctly but it took balls to take that stand and man up to the consequences. He has always been a team first guy. He HATES all our rivals in a way players express. Look at what he does against SEC east opponents. He's a dog every game but against the likes of UF, UGA, Candy and Kentucky when healthy he seems to find an extra gear. Let's not forget the whole outburst was because he really wanted to beat Vandy that week after being out all season to injury. Having to sit and see the team lose games he knew we should have won.

JJ in my heart is an all time great I am not gonna try ranking them because they all stand on their own and his legacy is still being written. In the current Era there is Dobbs, Barnett, JJ, AK and Cam. Those are the post Fulmer guys I don't count guys like CP because his impact was minimal and his tenure short. He was exciting that can't be argued but to me a legend is a guy that made an impact on the team as a leader.

Legendary play against UGA
Borderline legendary play against Florida
Legendary game against South Carolina

Routinely rocked opponents on special teams

He will and should be the player that all special teams contributors, starters, and upper classmen are measured against
