From the GA board....

I’ve had a lot of thoughts this season... almost posted several times... but the only thing I can definitively say is we miss Jim Cheney. I’ve been to every UT game this year and watched every UGA game...

Coley is a downgrade plain and simple. Maybe he can improve idk

Georgia fan has been to every Tennessee game and watched every Georgia game?

Someone needs to tell him he’s doing this wrong

@volatil I know you tried to tell all of us about JJ, and I just want to acknowledge how damned right you were. He is a freaking legend. So happy he's a Vol.
Has always been the dog. He’s by far the most competitive person I’ve seen play. I was just lucky to see him play on my sons team. Didn’t take a trained eye to see how special he was.Watching him continue to have more heart and desire than everyone else on the field at UT has been fun. Please someone tell him he won’t play at the next level. He will prove you wrong.

I loved that story you told about the playoff game against Maryville where they kept penalizing his team and he just kept running it in on the next play.

Dude is a legend. Think back to all the memorable plays he has made wearing the Orange and White. I’m hoping he has FIVE more games at Tennessee to add to the memories.

I feel like JJ is laying the groundwork for the young guys on how to compete every down, every practice. He’s a player that if he’s on a Bama right now or something he’s talked about every week being that guy helping lead to a natty. His impact of how he’s continued to fight this year will impact us for years to come.

Why does Vol football matter in life?

We lost a VFL yesterday. A man that was such an asset to my place of employment, and even though he didn’t work for us directly he was basically a coworker to us. He was about as passionate and genuine as they come for our Vols. Far beyond that, he was a great man who was loved by all around him. His passing got me thinking some things I’ve felt for a while that I had to write out.

In life, we all run into changes, events, etc. that bring everything into perspective. I know we see it on here all the time (praying for you @SweetasSoda). Every time some big life event happens, we realize that football means little in the big picture of life.

We all know what matters most In life: faith, family, friends, etc., but in the death of a VFL I inevitably turn to thinking about Vol football. Thoughts like “he never got to see...” or “at least he got to see...” or “I wish we could win this game for him” or “I wish he saw us win another championship.” All are memories, hopes, and regrets, and all are centered around UT football. Maybe I’m the only one who thinks this way, but I’m certain I’m not.

Why does it matter? It’s a connection to this fan base that weaves its way through life. It forms a relatable way to remember people, places, and times. Like right now, I not only want to best USCjr tomorrow, but to see this program turned around and winning championships. When it is, I will definitely say about all the VFL’s we’ve lost...

“I wish you could’ve seen this.”
