Recruiting Forum Football Talk II

Fun times. I lived behind McDonalds on the strip across from Campus Pub. Back when the swing revival (think Brian Setzer) was happening. Loud til 330 am every Th, Fr, Sa. Watched the mob parade the goalpost down Cumberland after the UF game.

I was a freshman in 98. I remember staying up to 5 a.m. the morning after beating Florida.

Lived in Jefferson Commons (which was brand new) my junior year. Just a fun time to be a student at UT.

What have y'all been up to today? What have I missed? Had to go back to ER. Now at Centennial in Nashville. Arterial gram in the morning.
Glad you're getting that done. Great idea. You're in everyone's thoughts here.

We're just biding our time until we lay the big beat down on the kickin chickens tomorrow.

HBailey had a huge night. Not aware of anything else new.

Edit: Oh, lot of good recruits will be in Knoxville. And it now looks like may dodge rain during the game.

You’re in good hands there. 🙏🏼

Harrison Bailey is good. Nats like baby shark. Coach Boom is a urinal cake. Roundball Croots coming to town. Maybe a dry game. McGill’s got a guy for that. Doesn’t matter what, he’s got a guy.

Why does Vol football matter in life?

We lost a VFL yesterday. A man that was such an asset to my place of employment, and even though he didn’t work for us directly he was basically a coworker to us. He was about as passionate and genuine as they come for our Vols. Far beyond that, he was a great man who was loved by all around him. His passing got me thinking some things I’ve felt for a while that I had to write out.

In life, we all run into changes, events, etc. that bring everything into perspective. I know we see it on here all the time (praying for you @SweetasSoda). Every time some big life event happens, we realize that football means little in the big picture of life.

We all know what matters most In life: faith, family, friends, etc., but in the death of a VFL I inevitably turn to thinking about Vol football. Thoughts like “he never got to see...” or “at least he got to see...” or “I wish we could win this game for him” or “I wish he saw us win another championship.” All are memories, hopes, and regrets, and all are centered around UT football. Maybe I’m the only one who thinks this way, but I’m certain I’m not.

Why does it matter? It’s a connection to this fan base that weaves its way through life. It forms a relatable way to remember people, places, and times. Like right now, I not only want to best USCjr tomorrow, but to see this program turned around and winning championships. When it is, I will definitely say about all the VFL’s we’ve lost...

“I wish you could’ve seen this.”

Dang Brillo, that hit me right in the feels 😢 sorry for your loss. Know the feeling. Not alone.

What did LSU's new commit, Gilbert do tonight ? For some reason, I still think Bailey, BJ and Keyton pull him to Knoxville.
I can't find the stats yet, except for HB. The first of his first 4 td passes was to AG. I don't know who caught the 5th. Some saying it's not over with AG. We'll just have to see.
