P doesn’t stand for PULL. Still requires at least a passing threat. When Kentucky did it against us, they really didn’t have any other option...their scholarship QB’s were no go. That was always Wilcox’s flub imo. But still allowed only 10 and our offense never showed up. When Kentucky did it against Arkansas...it was Arkansas. We can’t hope the defense that more than stood up against UGA and Florida will give us more free reign.
I knew that RPO stands for run pass option dude, fact is that I just don't have the confidence in JG or JT to win us this game, but we'll see, I think more than anything our defense has to get TO's to win this

Stronger possibility than when his dismissal was announced. I’ll admit...thought it was done and over. Might still be, but I can see the merits of Newt’s theory.
i can too. i'm just not convinced....i'll be a little surprised if he's back. not absolutely shocked.

Pretty low-life thing to do. It's not like he has not already milked us dry.
For "working" the contract? Seems smart to me. He is low for other reasons, but hard to blame him here. Dude probably needed a break for his health anyway. One thing I couldn't knock him on here was putting in the time and work. Redface aged 15 years here.

JG hasn't necessarily been a person who "owns it". That's part of his issues is his lack of accountability and refusal to accept criticism. That's my unprofessional opinion
i tend to agree, and have thought his overall demeanor never lent itslef to be the "alpha QB leader" type.

I have less confidence that our best WR playing QB for the first time since high school can beat the defense that beat UGA and almost Florida.

Hilinski doesn't scare me at all. The success South Carolina has had on offense has been because of their 1-2 punch at running back and one of those running backs is out Saturday.
Maybe their backs are fine, but I think a big part is because of their OL. #26 OL line yards per S&P+. They're getting push...against a very good schedule.

Hopefully Feaster wears out and RB3 stinks. But if they push us around, anyone can run through holes. This will be a good challenge for the front 7.

There was talk of him being replaced last season
eh, that was last year. i think he's proved his worth for sure. and he came in with a pretty darn good resume to boot. good, if not approachign great, recruiter, and he's done a very good job wiht the RB's this year. Tim Jordan would get a vote from me on most improved player.

Because newt isn't an ******* like you when someone disagrees with him, pastor.

I usually ignore posters who bring that up, and personally attack me for no reason other than they hate something I said...but I actually like you and what you have to say a lot of times, so I am not going to. I am not going to say I don't care whether you like me or not, because unlike the real a-holes on this board I actually don't like being hated. If I have ever personally attacked you in a non-joking way, I apologize, I don't remember it if I have.

You haven't, and I appreciate the apology too. I honestly went too far with that post, but to edit it afterwards would be poor taste. I posted it and shouldn't have.

Sometimes you seem so stuck on the idea that if it's your opinion it's the truth, that bugs me. Maybe you're just less serious than I realize in your post, but it's not always easy to tell. So I apologize as well, you're not an ahole man. You get fired up though and come off that way sometimes, as I'm sure I do as well.

That's what I want to see also. Shrout apparently has the strongest arm on the team but not ready mentally to manage a game and make a ton of throws. So tell the OL, TE's and WR's it's time to block like they've never blocked before, run the ball 75% of the time, control the clock and throw some deep PA passes down field to our big WR's. Tell Shrout if you miss, miss high and long. NO TURNOVERS!

This is basically what we did all last year. Been hoping Chaney would do this with JG all year. Never really did, except Miss St. Tomorrow feels like a good time to do it. Maurer feels like the only QB that can run what Chaney really wants to do right now.

Hilinski's first 2 games as a starter he threw for 606 yards and 4 TD'S. In his last 4 games he has thrown for 592 yards and 3 TD's and in this 4 game stretch he hasn't broken 200 yards passing in any of those games.
Yup. He tore up an FCS team for nearly 10 YPA and since then he's stunk...5.4 ypa 😂😂

I respect that, and I freely admit that I am a crusty old fart that vents his frustrations rather vociferously...

So in my recent stat diving I came to a weird conclusion.

Helton did a better job managing JG than Chaney/Weinke have. Now that's not to say he's a better QB coach or better OC, and the "managing" could also be part of the confidence/mental block that seems now apparent with JG. But most of the issues last year offensively came from the OL, it would have been interesting to see how things went if the OL played as well last year as they have so far this season.

Chaney I'm sure is a "wide open" type of OC/coach, he's likely just not going to limit his offense to suit a QB. Either the QB can perform or he can't, unfortunately it seems JG can't.

I feel this.

I guess I just try to be less...critical of these athletes. With the new era of social media and our recent coaching carousel, anyone who has been willing to stay around and put in the work regardless of how poorly they may be performing has earned my respect.

@ Missouri, Kentucky, @ Georgia, Florida

I don't think he's that great a QB, but he's also been limited, he missed the 2nd half of Georgia completely. We'll see how he plays tomorrow, hopefully the pressure gets to him and the secondary vultures like they did against MSU.
Yeah that's a tough stretch. UK and UF are alright, but Mizzou and UGA have top pass defenses.
