He's a rougher Dabo. Good recruiter, let coordinators do their jobs, don't get in the way. I thought he was a solid hire and would be successful, but I never saw this level of success coming so quickly.

Ya, coaching and system matter a lot more than we give it credit for. QB especially gets labeled a bust if they don't have success, but a lot of times that exact QB would have set the world on fire somewhere else. Vice versa too, the Bradys of the world would have faded into obscurity if they'd gone to certain horrific teams that didn't use and develop them properly.

Emmanuel Moseley is one of many, many Butch players who could have been elite playing for someone else, as he's showing on Sundays.

Harbaugh is 1-10 vs top ten teams. All his players and his personality. 1-10
Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin will be near the top ten every year it seems like. So if Michigan is content paying 7-8 million a year for 4th best in their conference, so be it. Can Pruitt do it better..... we don’t know. But there’s enough evidence on Harbaugh to know his ceiling.

I am serious...HOW..can you not feel this way? He is awful, no beyond awful..it is not too much. I am not talking about him as a person, but I literally hate the sight of him on the field. It sucks every shred of hope. He shocked me in the MSU game and I thought he might finally be worth something, and then he pulls that awful awful awful betrayal of trust last Saturday..not to mention looking like a total spaz doing it..I can not forget that.

I think it's a reference to the slimy handler Byron Devenner who has tried to solicit college programs for money in the past to send players to them.

For sure. But the difference, to me, was 9 wins felt like Butch’s ceiling and that he was quickly going to regress (which he did). Harbaugh and Mullen are in a different tier where 8-9 wins feels like their floor. Would we get irritated by that after a while if they weren’t winning conference championships? We sure would. But if you’re asking me which path I would take today, I’d take the 8 win floor instead of the unknown hope.

When we are scrapping for 6 wins, everyone would take that. The question is, how long would you take that? I know folks around here... and I’d say about 1.5 seasons

I hate the very sight of him, and I am talking about just as a football player. What he did Saturday destroyed every small speck of goodwill or respect I had left for him.

It would make me happy to never have to see him in a Vol uniform...ever again, but now I will have to watch him destroy what is left of this season as he drags the rest of the team into the abyss with him.

But this week, after that Bammer game, has been one of the best weeks we have had to date. With the teams play at Bammer they have had the wind at their backs all week and will certainly have Saturday. I expect this team to come out with the most enthusiasm this year. Biggest home game of the year IMO. I expect the Vols to rely heavily on the running game against SC.

See your point. But I wonder if revenue makes up for it in ticket sales, merch, donations. At least for some years. A&M and Mich make boatloads of revenue and donations. Might only take a 5% uptick to make up.

Speaking of A&M - during the King days I checked their board and they all thought 2020 was a legitimate national title run

i do agree, i think there's been enough talk about it this week that while it may happen, it' probably won't be near as bad as some, myself included, prevously thought it might be......

I don’t know. Some folks would be mad about things, but if our coach had won 10 games in his first season we would be talking so much ****. Like @chavisut said, we’d be unbearable to other fan bases. And it would be so much fun.

revenue isn't the issue. it's seeing your coach in the top 5 highest paid coaches list.......and getting "not top 5" results...for an extended amount of time.

Afrer this decade, I'd put up with 8-9 every year for 5 or 6 years before I started to get antsy. It's a LOT easier to bring in an elite coach when you're just a couple steps away from the playoffs instead of a whole staircase.

People say that but when you're losing to UGA, UF, Bama, and top West/OOC opponents every year, people would still want a change pretty quick.
