If the big dogs are not after a player he will be rated low. This could be because they're not aware of how good the player is, or because they are aware that they are not good enough. He is committed to us so it is because they are not aware. Come on, Hank, you know how this works. He very well may be. Never seen a snap of his. Just doesn’t feel like we’re “beating out the big dogs” for him bc the original question was why he was rated so low.
I still want a manager to trust what he has seen with his eyes and has the balls to bring in a different guy from time to time.Agreed. The metrics tell you who to bring in. To steal a good ole VN term when a manager goes rogue against the metrics you get Kerhsaw and his 6 era in first innings losing games for you.
We may get a grad transfer QB but who would want to come here with Maurer, JT, Hill and Bailey in front of them. Hell, Maurer and Bailey aren't going anywhere anytime soon. With the possibility of JG moving on () and Maurer being made of balsa wood, is JT??, Hill and Bailey enough? Do we try and get a Grad transfer or Juco QB for next year?
It's a violation of HIPAA for anyone except Maurer & his doctor(s) to know. Anyone outside them is getting 2nd hand information either from the medical staff, Maurer, or coaching staff.
A few years back, the Yankees had a second baseman who couldn't make a throw to first base. He just lost confidence and forgot how to make the throw. When you lose your confidence, all is lost until you figure it out. If we have to play JG, lets hope he gets it figured out.I mentioned this before: Braves had Mark Wohlers, and he WAS a great closer, and then he forgot how to throw. They called it Steve Blass disease: – a psychological block which manifests itself when baseball players overthink the act of throwing a baseball and consequently become unable to throw with any sort of control.
JG has never been a very good quarterback seeing the field, and now it's all got in his head, which makes it a thousand times worse-- maybe the football version of that mental problem. I'm watching this practice and either he has the mental thing or he's trying not to make back up so he won't have to suffer the boo birds.
I’ve been saying this since Saturday night. Pruitt was upset with him for flopping out and taking his helmet off.Conspiracy time... I don't think Maurer has had a concussion in either game, and part of Pruitt's frustration with him at Bama was that because of how he reacted to the hit the medical staff wanted to "play it safe"
First injury = neck stinger
2nd injury = bell rung a bit, but not a concussion
