The Cubs one? I was trying to change our bad luck. I changed it to Marquez and we got run by Florida so then I changed it to Henry.

Looks like you are hiring David Ross as manager per ESPN. I'd worry ever so slightly about his actual manager/coaching/decision experience, but I don't think you could have picked a better guy. LOVED his time with the Braves.

He is a huge part of 2016, so I have nothing but love for him. I think he is smart enough to find some good assistants to help him with managing his bullpen and things like that.

Conspiracy time... I don't think Maurer has had a concussion in either game, and part of Pruitt's frustration with him at Bama was that because of how he reacted to the hit the medical staff wanted to "play it safe"

First injury = neck stinger
2nd injury = bell rung a bit, but not a concussion

We been over this in the FF at nauseam. This is what we know for certain.

1. BM had a head/neck injury after the Miss State, and he went through concussion protocols before he could play against Alabama. He was hit and he suffered a head injury during the Alabama game. No one knows with complete certainty except for the Doctors the extent of his head injuries.

2. Pruitt Called his injury a concussion after the Miss State game and said he was in concussion protocols, but he did not offer any other specifics regarding his medical condition.

3. Only the Medical Professionals/Doctors know the diagnosis/prognosis. Everything else is speculation.

4. Pruitt either misspoke or he’s using coach speak to gain an advantage over his opponent regarding which QB will play when he said BM had a concussion. Pruitt is NOT a Doctor and isn’t qualified to offer a medical diagnosis/prognosis.

5. BM’s status for Saturday is not entirely up to Pruitt. BM will only play if he’s medically cleared by the Doctors to play and he wants to play.

6. BM had a new helmet in practice yesterday which offers better head protection.

I believe that too many people are throwing around the term concussion too loosely and it’s certainly very harmful to UT and BM.

I wish folks would refer to it in more generic terms such has head/neck injury and until we hear from the Doctors no one is completely certain if BM has a concussion or the extent of it.

We don’t know what we don’t know!

I’ve got a friend that is high up in that world (you’d probably know him being a cubs a guy) he says the managing is basically already done before the games. It’s really all about what the metrics says.

The manger is just managing people more than making real decisions

I think metrics plays into it a lot. The manager still has to pick the right dude to bring in from the pen. I agree that managing now is different than it was just 10 years ago.

Agreed. The metrics tell you who to bring in. To steal a good ole VN term when a manager goes rogue against the metrics you get Kerhsaw and his 6 era in first innings losing games for you.

Still can't believe this:

I just saw this news. Wow!!! Those are great additions to a position of need. Plus they have the size to fit the system. Given how thin the LB corps is right now, they all have an excellent opportunity to come in and contribute right away. This is some great news.

I could be wrong, but I believe it was a what if kinda thing.

Just lots of speculation that Rocker may be gone after this year... possible replacements were being thrown around

Thanks for replying.
Sounds about right. Rumors are just that, aren't they.
I didn't know why he'd leave his NFL job to come work for Pruitt, but stranger things have happened I suppose.
