Assuming the GOP does the right thing here and Trump is ineligible to run in 2020, who is the GOP nominee? I doubt Cruz wants back in, or Jeb. Rubio maybe. Pence will be too sullied by his connection to Trump to win the nomination.

If it is Kasich, I think I would likely vote for him over Warren or Sanders. Not Biden. If Biden is the Dem nominee I think he wins easily under the circumstances.

But Kasich could win. And as I say I would vote for him over a lot of the Dem field.

I would vote for Kasich over most of the Democrats running. If Trump is running, I will vote for anyone but...

Even if Trump were to be removed from office he would still run in 2020.

That doesn't mean he would win the nomination. Who do you think it would be? Maybe the GOP gets dragged back to the center, like theoretically Biden does with the Dems.

I think he would still win. I have always been a Kasich man. Voted for last time around. Wrote him in during the general.

The GOP has to find it's way out of the woods first. It's totally lost. Kasich would be a good start and I could vote for him. I'm not enamored with the Dem candidates. I keep hoping someone else will emerge. Never Trump though.

You really disgust me. I'm no Trump supporter. But if a gun was placed at my head, I would certainly chose Trump over any one not named Tulsi on the DNC side, and most certainly over a RINO like Kasich.

And another thing... what do you mean "do the right thing"? We've been waiting for the Dems to do the right thing with regards to these bogus assed Russia/Ukraine connections for the last 3 years.

I realize some of you will not answer because to do so acknowledges the possibility that Trump is not the nominee. But try to set that aside for the moment and let's just speculate on who it would be, because to me it's an interesting question of which way the GOP tilts if Trump isn't viable.

Nikki Haley would surely make a run.
