This is a must win game if we want to go bowling. JG will probably get booed, but he will also get cheered if he makes a good play. Some fans will even want him to stay the starter over BM if we win the game.

I agree that his record for the past three years definitely doesn't inspire confidence.

#22 is gonna wreck some wrs, something we haven’t seen since EB
No I’m not saying he’s as good as EB, but it looks like he’s gonna be a big hitter over the middle....

I wonder how many times EB would have been hit with targeting lol, he ****ing brought it when he hit a guy

I agree that booing is a bad look that accomplishes nothing positive. But asking frustrated fans not to boo JG will fall on deaf ears. The ones that boo don't care, and they'll go at it long and loud. Hopefully, they won't throw trash on the field like SCAR fans did last week.
Unfortunately you're probably right. Just a certain irony in selfishness being one of the fan's biggest complaints, followed by them putting their need to be heard over what's best for the team.
Now that seems like a simple concept but the irony will probably never even be noticed by some.

just watched EBs highlights, I don’t think college football has seen a safety that good since him
He was elite

We need to win this game, Booing is the worst thing we can do. There is a chance JG could play like he did at Auburn and Kentucky (if Maurer is out) and we have to give him every chance to do that.

I agree about not booing, even though I fear it is inevitable. I don't think there is any chance he plays like he did at Auburn and UK, that guy is dead and gone, and we've got this new guy who can't complete simple swing passes, or ones downfield to wide open TE's/WR's. I've never really seen a regression this bad. Even the game against MSU, he was only allowed to throw the ball 7 times in 2.5 quarters, and the two big completions he had traveled a combined total of about 10 air yards. I just don't see how that is sustainable over a full game. Of course, between Muschamp and Pruitt, those two guys are probably very happy to play a 10-7 final score type of game.

I'd say that SC is substantially better than MSU.
USC can play defense..pretty well..MSU cannot at all. The USC defense is what is going to be the problem.

This was my impression from the eye test of watching both teams, but statistically, USC and MSU are very close on defense. USC is a little better, particularly against the pass, but neither is outstanding. I haven't looked at advanced analytics, but just on the raw numbers they are pretty comparable.

Edit: I take it back, just found the defensive efficiency rankings, SC is 12th at 79.4 and MSU is 59th at 54.7

After yesterday's presser - I'm all in on CJP. He's improving strongly just like the team is improving. The SEC office and Steve Shaw have been put on notice. The players are figuring it out and CJP/staff have their attention. Jim Chaney is absolutely the right guy for OC and UGA now knows it. With even a game manger QB that was accurate and could get the ball out on time this team has now proven it could and should have won 8 games this season.

The future is so bright. Bailey/Maurer at QB changes things starting next season. The O-line is going to be awesome in coming years. Excellent talent at receiver. The D-line is coming on strong. TooToo and Crouch are going to start in the NFL one day. Tank is going to be amazing and our excellent CB's are back on track.

Recruiting will get better now. Win out and lets see what happens.

Well at least VN has all
The bases covered

One group of posters think JG was paid off and blew the play on purpose.

Another group think he called his own number for selfish personal glory.

The opposite ends of ignorant thinking
I think he changed the play because he thought it would work. That still does not make it anything other than a horrendously bad decision.

True, but those who boo and yell things at players don't care. Other fanbases, like UGA and SCAR, have more than their fair share, too.

UT is going to continue to try to head it off by putting out stuff about fan support, but it's going to be what it's going to be. Hopefully, the Vols can come out strong and get ahead early. Winning is the best way to quiet the angry mob.

USC is marginally better IMO. Both teams are wildly inconsistent.

Basing this on what, exactly?

USC is 3-4 (2-3) with their SEC loses coming to Alabama, Mizzou, Florida...the latter game was as badly officiated as our game, if not worse. They beat UK in a very one sided game, and upset Georgia on the road.

Meanwhile MSU is 3-4 (1-3) with wins over Lousiana, Southern Miss, & Kentucky likely only going to win 2 more games, unless Arkansas figures out a way to beat them.

South Carolina has a far tougher schedule and is a better team, don't even think it's that close.

Love seeing the fans continue to show out. We are doing a pretty good job lifting our team up and making Neyland loud. This team is feeling/noticing our energy, too. I fully believe we can win out. Not sure we do, but it's definitely possible. I fully expect JG to start and play the whole game this weekend, but I hope the fans rally behind this team and not do anything dumb when JG trots out there. That'll have a negative affect on the energy of the team.
