Sure that played a role but over 200 yards rushing given up to a bad Ole miss team isn’t good.

The only ole miss game I have seen was against Memphis and they were awful that game on O

Ole Miss put in their QB who runs about a 4.4 40. He rushed for 104 yards alone in that game. I think it changed their offense with RichRod. We don’t play that type of game.

It is laughable that the "expert" who reviewed it for the network said that because the DB was content to run with the WR all the way down the field, that it was justified not to call holding. If these dudes are going to do nothing but protect their brethren who clearly miss calls during the game, the networks need to let them go and not pay them for their obvious bias.
Couldn’t believe my ears. As if he was just going for a Jog and had no intentions of tackling him

I know I'm not the only one but I watched that angle over and over to try to discern how much of that hole was created by defense reacting to the sneak and I couldn't see a way that a handoff doesn't score.
I think only if one of the LBs slides to the side of the run and beat 81 on lead block

Nobody would blame Pruitt if he rolled out JT and failed to go bowling. If he rolls out JG and fails, he will continue to be criticized.

Exactly why we should support the decision whatever it is

Many posters shamefully questioned if Pruitt even cared about winning earlier in the year. That was dumb then and dumb now.

We know without a shadow of doubt he’s going to make the decision he feels is going to win this game and we need to support that

@Devo182 I saw a photo on FF last night that looked like bammer was lined up way offsides on jg's hero play. don't know if that's right. if you use that play, for the love of all that is good, clip off the runback!

I don't get not giving Shrout a chance, either. But Pruitt and Chaney seem very averse to it. It's a strange dynamic... and has gotten stranger since fall camp.
You are far better connected than I, but the reason I’ve heard is fear of turnovers from Shrout. The impression I get is that they think his 29/25 TD/INT ratio from high school is about the same still.

JGs "leash" was short before Bama. Chaney essentially has him by the collar now.

Im with you. If you re that fearful, be that way with a different guy that can earn some slack.

Im wondering since Maurer's status is a lot more questionable now than before if this isn't some pregame misdirection by CJP.
This is exactly what I’m wondering. Maybe JJ starts at QB....

Yeah, but looking at their initial trajectories from snap, I don't think there was time to react off JG's movement. Everybody seemed pretty well picked up.

I figured he'd do just what he did-- be vague and reveal nothing. But I think they'll be very conservative with Maurer. If he can clear Saturday AM, though, I could see them playing him without practicing. They don't usually do that, but in this case, they might. That would give him a full week to clear protocol.

Since the game is in Neyland, I am sure it will be South Carolina. Plus, they opened as a four point favorite, which is strange to me, considering the game that we came off of and the last two games they have come off of. They are due for more of an emotional letdown more than we are, and it’s a home game for us. Since the home team gets three points, they are saying South Carolina is seven points better than us. I just don’t see it, but maybe I am wrong. Makes me think that Vegas knows something, and that something is probably pertaining to how the game will be called. We have to remember that we know Alabama is controlling the entire SEC, so the Gumps are wanting to keep us down as long as possible. How do you do that? Affect other games and make us lose, which will affect recruiting and not allow us to get the players to make our way back to the top.

Vegas knows we have a bad qb situation and usc just hung with 2 teams we didn't really hang with and beat 1. We need a lot to get right this week. Need Maurer and others healthy. I'd say both teams laid it all out last week and will be trying their best to get energy going for this one. We'll need Neyland full to carry these guys.

I would rather have a walk-on at QB than JG. I would use Shrout and/or JJ Saturday. Shrout should be practicing with the ones along with JJ this week.

CJP has lost me over this issue. He has an opportunity to be successful here and he does some things I really like, but he's blowing it using JG. No team wins many games with a bad QB. If JG starts I guess losing to USCe is OK with CJP.

I know it’s mostly due to lack of opportunities, but he’s the only QB on the roster yet to not cough the ball up to the opposing team...much less multiple times like his position mates. QB definitely hasn’t been a caretaker position this season.

The closest thing to “fair”
That can be
Done is officials in big time college sports need to come from as far from the schools as possible.

Ie give me officials from the west coach or over seas

Mike Slive and Greg Sankey had no prior ties to the SEC. They were both from the northeast, yet, they promoted and continue to promote homerism within the conference.

There are plenty of qualified candidates who are competent for the jobs. They also need to be vetted thoroughly. Yes, asking if you have some allegiance to a school is important. If you lie, you are subject to termination. You can’t tell me everyone in that office didn’t know about Anthony Jordan and being an LSU fan.

The former head of basketball officials lived in Lexington and I believe was from there. Just a terrible look. Arrogance.

I agree - at least give him a reasonable opportunity to prove he is bad. I doubt it could be worse than what we have seen out of JG. But if he is then do whatever because it will not matter.

Neids spoke at QB Club today. This dude rules.

Brian Niedermeyer talks recruiting, tight ends at QB Club

“Obviously everyone wants to talk about Saturday (at Alabama) a little bit. We played 27 freshmen and sophomores. We feel like the future is bright. You look at where we’re at, going down on the half yard line and take it to within one score in the fourth quarter. But we like where we’re going and the direction of this team. Defense, gosh held the No. 1 team in the country to lowest point total, lowest passing yards, I believe, and lowest total yards as well (this season). So that’s something that we really look forward to, building on, for us at least.”

“Now I guess everyone else wants to talk about recruiting. So I’ll let you know things are going well. One of the biggest things we always sell in Knoxville, if a kid comes to visit, it’s different for them because of the atmosphere, the fans, the stadium, the campus, how beautiful it is. I think that’s why, Vol Nation, we want to build this thing and get it back to where we want. The biggest thing is we have to do it together. That’s the atmosphere and the fans in the stadium on game day. There will be some big-time recruits here this weekend and we need everybody’s help. It’s all of us together. We’re not trying to build it for ourselves, we’re trying to build it for the University of Tennessee and, moving forward, for the next 10, 15, 20 years. So that’s important.”
