VN should apologize to JG

After spending a good deal of time analyzing "the play" and seeing various videos this conclusion is thus drawn and it's perfect and revolves around the fact that Jeremy Pruitt the head coach at the university of tennessee will not allow any team member to call a time-out under any circumstance regardless of the situation. First and foremost has a time-out been called by a player that any poster on VN is aware of? I think not and to be more specific Pruitt will not tolerate such. UT was successful in pulling a QB sneak on 1st attempt vs. Ga.St. 2nd attempt not one but 2 ILB's filled the middle gaps. JG, the QB had no choice but to see what was in front of his own eyes yet he ran the called play choosing not to audible out but run said called play. Why didn't a time-out enter his mind? Flash to this Sat. nite vs. Bama and it's 4th down once again. What happened? Ole Nick or Bama's DC must watch game film because as video demonstrates the ILB, (May), filled that gap just like Ga. St. did. A QB has to see this and if many say that called played had Crouch hitting a hole then JG knew immediately that LBer wasn't gonna be blocked and no way possible was that hand-off to Crouch ever gonna occur. There's not but one solution and that's call a time-out. Why hasn't JG done this? Why hasn't anyone done this that plays for UT? You now know the truth. We don't have a football coach. He himself should have known the play was gonna get blown-up and called the time-out himself. Now after reading those 12 pages of posts something still didn't make any sense but when you factor in the fact that Pruitt will not allow a player to take it upon himself to call a time-out at a critical juncture especially a QB serious problems can arise. Is it gonna take a 3rd time? Will Bailey really play here? No wonder our QB's have little confidence. Can't be trusted to call a time-out in a critical situation is f*#king belittling. I'll go 1st JG I'm sorry you had to end up playing for Hitler. I think your a good QB and has tried and you knew the situation Sat. nite. You did try to the best of your ability under the circumstance.
PS Pruitt isn't covering JG's butt...he's covering his own. See if any media boys confront the coach over time-outs[/QUOTE.
Are you out of your mind. According to Trey Smith and Brandon Kennedy he changed the play on his own. If you watch the videos like everyone else has you will see Smith pull from his guard position to lead block. Then you will see Pope run almost 2 yards to the left before he cut it back to try and push JG. Crouch was moving to the left on snap of the ball. JG went selfish and done it all on his own. Who changes a play without calling an audible. And further more who runs a QB sneak when you take your guard and pull him out of the line. The entire offensive line was moving to the left to block that way. So what have you seen that JG warrants an apology for being selfish?

He decided to go over the top and can’t jump....

Say that to yourself and the analyze how that ends.

Not just that, but he decided to go over the top from standing flat-footed under center. Even someone with hops would not be able to do that without a running start from the RB position. In the situation we saw Saturday night what JG did was guaranteed to fail.

What do you consider a good QB? What’s his record as a starter 7-18? All I know if Maurer is starter in day 1 we beat Georgia State and BYU!!!

Tried going over the Top when the guard is pulling and leaves his gap wide open!!!!

Watch the replay and see how fast May came in unblocked. Damn boy he could have reached across LOS and touched JG prior to snap. That's why JG didn't want to talk to his azz and Pruitt tugged his facemask. F*#k Pruitt, i'm standing behind the QB on this one regardless. If ever there was a time-out needing to be called it was then as soon as the LB stood at the LOS.
.
You are the only one standing behind him besides maybe his parents. His own team mates aren’t even standing behind him. You can tell that by the comments made by Trey Smith and Kennedy!! He was unblocked because the play was supspode to be to the left side that is why smith was out there blocking and Pope and Crouch was headed that way as well on the snap. A QB sneak everyone is moving forward are they not? He went rogue and didn’t even bother to audible, he jsut flat out altered the play. Your not gonna tell me that they practice a QB sneak where the guard pulls!

Maybe JG should apologize for saying he was a dual threat He is as mobile as a Manning. The kid should have.'A' went with the play called our 'B' take the Timeout anyway . I am sure Chaney saw something like the LB would have thought 81 had the ball but say your right and 2 calls a TO with Chaney in Pruitt's ear he could have called a TO or understand why 2 did. But the play was called in the hudle before the play before and it was supposed to be a hurry up and and catch them off gaurd play.

Manning had 12 rushing touchdowns in his career. Jarrett has like two and they were about two years apart.

I think Jeremy Pruitt should apologize for playing JG at all this year. Wish we had washed our hands of him before the year. I see where it was hard, he had experience and you thought he may take a step forward instead of two steps back. He killed us this year though. I wish the kid all the best, just would rather him watch the rest of this year. He doesn't give us much of a shot of winning a game. They're having to call plays that take the game out of his hands. I don't see how that really benefits anything. We're in a bad situation.

Every time, had he ran the play that was called the back scores.

It’s an overhead shot with a lane big enough to push the state of Tennessee through.

I think the OP don't get it was a fake to FB and pitch to 27 then he runs threw the hole that was sealed and set up perfect #2 just panics just like when he sees a wide open wide out and over throws them but when he is about to get sacked he don't have time to think and throws a dart. #2 has the skills but he is a head case.
I don’t believe it was fake to FullBack. I think it was gonna be a toss play with Smith and Pope both lead blocking. Watch the video and you will see Pope go 2 yards to the left and when he notices JG try and go over the top that’s when he try’s and push up middle all of sudden

Inside the Film: Fan knows more than Coach Pruitt... Seriously man stop. These threads where fans know so much more than Pruitt are getting absolutely ridiculous. JG has been given chance after chance. He doesn't make the right reads. I hate it for the kid because I know he works his butt off and cares about winning. He just doesn't have it. Stage way too big at Tenn for him.

Put yourself in his shoes and see that LB. You have no choice but to go right, the 10 gap. 1 being the designation of qb. He's not athletic but in that case he had no choice but to improvise. I PLAYED THE DAMN POSITION so I KNOW WHERE FAULT LIES.
Backyard football doesnt count scooter. I can tell that you never played the position in organized football from your post and OP.

That fumble play shows why he does not allow these decisions to be made

Lets just pretend that your nonsensical scenario were true, is it not the responsibility of the QB to recognize that and call a time out? It is the responsibility of the QB to do that, which is further proof that JG simply ran the wrong play, while the other 10 people on offense were running the correct play.

So 3 of the OL on the play suggest it was a running play just like it is blocked and suggest that they don’t know what happened , Pruitt obviously displeased w JG and it’s everyone’s fault EXCEPT for the guy that is actually running the play??
Well I am now convinced, especially as the OP is a former QB as that is quite rare and obviously extremely impressive
