This is a great post and something that is just as important as the refs screwing us... I kept saying the same thing last night when they would break to video of Tua's parents walking into the locker room ... pathetic

I don't think it was concussion related and Pruitt was frustrated that something that really isn't serious is forcing our best player at QB to sit.

With Maurer in and even slightly biased officiating I am convinced we win that game.

Ok I should have removed my drama queen part of the post. That wasn’t fair but other than that it appears you agree with me

Why would hom taking his helmet require anything other than him sitting out one play?

Wasn't the initial hit that got him. It was falling into his own guy and hitting his already sore/injured neck.

Question and please tell me I’m wrong, but I heard if someone gets a third concussion they are recommended to stop playing sports. Is there truth to this? If so, then I’m even more worried about Maurer since he has two now probably.

Financial wise, there is at least 6 million reasons the SEC wants a team in the playoffs. If they allow their undefeated teams to get beat during the season, there's a chance they will not make it to the playoffs.

When there's a crap ton of money involved, there's always the possibility(likelihood) of corruption.


A conference will receive $6 million for each team that is selected for the semifinal games. There will be no additional distribution to conferences whose teams qualify for the national championship game. A conference will receive $4 million for each team that plays in a non-playoff bowl under the arrangement.

Each conference whose team participates in a playoff semifinal, Cotton, Fiesta, or Peach Bowl, or in the national championship game will receive $2.43 million to cover expenses for each game.

Pretty much. Strained muscles can be pretty sharply painful for a moment, especially in the neck. It's not usually the action that causes the strain that hurts, it's movement after it's hurt. I'm actually dealing with one in my shoulder right now that just won't go away.

I do agree that he could have played through it if he kept his helmet on.

Wasn't even sure Maurer was alive but at least I was up to date on the Tagovailoa's hall walking technique.
