Well let's fight but don't get hurt... we would be stupid to go out and kill ourselves on a meaningless game we have no chance at winning, get some key kids hurt or dinged up, then not have the horses for the rest of the season when it matters.

Rational point, but you KNOW that isn't Pruitt's mentality, not against Alabama.

Besides, miracles happen. Not wishing it upon him, but imagine Tua goes down 1st play of the 2nd half...my god we would be kicking ourselves if we had been sandbagging all along to keep us safe. There's no Hurts waiting in the wings this year and with their defense...well we'd have a fighter's chance.

If we play to “keep players healthy” against Bama because it is a “meaningless game”, then I guarantee we win less than 5 games on the year. That’s a loser mentality...at some point this program has to develop some 🏈 🏈

These guys don’t even think we have a chance and say not play mauer bc he’s gonna get killed
I get it, it’s bama, but you still gotta show up thinking you can win or why show up at all. Maybe it’s just me but I’ve never gonna into anything thinking I’m gonna fail

We're trying to instill a winning culture, fight, and toughness in our team. Something that's been missing for a decade. We want our team believing they can win and trying to win for 60 minutes whether they can or not.

Oh, I know that and in reality hopefully we go out and take the fight to them because we have nothing to lose... I knew I'd ruffle feathers but damn I want to be at full strength when he hit the remaining schedule. Most teams are beat up to hell after playing Bama, and we will be hosting SC, which is another must win if we want to try and go bowling...

Wouldn't worry. People like CJP, JJ, and many others aren't thinking that way at all. Now, I see the BM thing more as extra neck/head risk precautions if he isn't safe to play. But if you're sitting him because it has anything to do with it being the Bama game, then I totally disagree. If he's 100% fine and he's our best chance to win, then you go go go.

I feel you brother. I'll hate if we lose anyone meaningful this game and come up short down the stretch. Just hate it. But that's the risk I guess

As for being beat up, I'd say their less dominant defense and much less smashmouth run game will make it not as bad as we historically think. Still bad, but not like the old days.

Is he verified leaving for Rutgers? Midseason quit? Pulling a Spurrier is always lame. But UT is good at making them happen. I still contend, after 2 straight losses to the Vols and a 3rd imminent, he just couldn't stomach it. Making the OBC give up was a great moment in UT history 🤣
