I’m usually against gimmick formations but i would love if we took a page out of Sean Payton’s playbook and did some packages with Jennings at QB like they do with Taysom Hill. Just like 2-3 a game. Split Maurer our wide so it negates a defender and just let Jennings do some simple RPOs.

Something really simple like this. You couldnt totally ignore maurer (where brees is up top) either bc he’s athletic enough to be a weapon.
could be great on converting short yardage situations and redzone where young QBs usually struggle at.

Super easy. He knew it the second it happened.

The first was a tricky coverage they sucked him into. He misread it. The second one was under pressure and made a poor decision with the other player easily breaking in front of the ball

The Tennessee Volunteer colors we selected from the color at the center of a daisy and the white petals. (Growing plentiful on The Hill) So, a shade closer to yellow is accurate.

It’s not difficult to see the potential. We have a 4 star RB ahead of him. Our offense has struggled at times, so it’s harder to see the field when you can’t move the ball. He was a good pickup.

He flashed in the first 2 games for sure. Needs to bulk up and work on pass pro. Not comparing him to Kamara but he also struggled in pass pro his first year with us. Gray looks like a weapon, just needs to bulk up, go north quicker and develop pass pro.

What’s an acceptable number of picks for 18 the remaining 6 games?

We all know he adds a lot to this offense but it’s my fear that at some point bad plays might outweigh the good ones. He has 4 picks on just 48 attempts. That’s way too may and that doesn’t include the number of times Florida got their paws on his passes.



Imo he needs to throw 5 or less picks the rest of the way or Pruitt will bench him.

I think Gray is the perfect example of making that second year jump. Another year in the weight room and coaching will do wonders for this kid. You can see he is close, but just not quite there yet...

Agreed. He has talent for sure, just needs to gain some weight and some refinement about when to make his cuts. He tends to dance a little when he shouldn't

It’s funny, I don’t think Maurer factored into that MSU win much. He had a nice run that JG in no way manufactures. But he also cost us a couple scores that JG probably salvages field goals out of. JG could have won that game with our game plan and the way our defense played.

Maurer is just more bouncy so it looks better to us all. Our offense still kinda sucks with Maurer (at this point). But maybe he’s buoyed the offensive line and defensive side of the ball

I'm sorry i must be sleepwalking right now... It sounds like multiple people in here think JG gives us a better chance to win right now?? LOLOL. Yeah great plan! Run on 90% of plays and when we have a pass play use our statue QB who holds the ball all day long and can't hit a wide open tight end running down the seam. That will get us to a bowl for sure!

seriously though, Maurer is a freshman and he'll make freshman mistakes but he undoubtedly makes our offense more dynamic and gives us the ability to actually score points. We don't have the luxury of a bama defense of old where we can win games scoring 10-17 points per game which is what you're going to get with JG.

I also think a large majority of us would agree that JG doesn’t have that ability.

Where the picks come in is we are going to play at least 2 and maybe as many as 4 games coming up where our QB doesn’t have to win us the game we just need to make sure they don’t lose it. Much like the second half against MSU and it’s seems reasonable to me that if 18 can’t cut these picks down that he might not be the one behind center in those games. JMO

The biggest thing Maurer has allowed the offense, which I think is a big factor in why he's been able to move the ball at QB is having him in makes us less predictable.

Brian will throw it anywhere, he'll keep on RPOs, and he's better at knowing when to hand them off. IF JG actually ran the RPOs properly with his speed he could likely make some big plays with his legs, I just don't think he's willing to run though. Like he's not got that "want to" or something.

I’d say anyone not willing to discuss it as an area of concern is being very DUMB

With 6 games remaining I’d guess he’ll throw at least 6 picks. His raw talent and overall ceiling is exciting, but he’s still a true freshman and the game is probably a little too fast for him right now. He still gives us the best chance at winning so we’ll have to live with the mistakes.

If he throws 2 picks in a game he needs to sit and let JG come in and manage the game for a bit just like Miss St. I hope it doesn’t come to that again. And I realize concussion protocol pulled him out but he should have sat for a few series anyway.
