Game thread is up you roughions. If you like it, put a like on it. If you don't like it, change your opinion... and put a like on it. :)

Gave you a like for "roughions". Creative spelling makes me happy, especially when it makes me think of rough onions. Because I don't think I've ever given conscious thought to the roughness of onions.

See what ADHD does to a person? And I even took my meds this morning.

Anyone else notice the change in style of play recently or I guess maybe aggression? Past two games I have noticed more OL playing through whistle putting people on their ass all the way until they hear the play blown dead instead of stopping after they finish their first block or think play is away from them. On defense I am seeing more gang tackling, several times I have seen nearly 5-6 orange jerseys surrounding a ball carrier smothering him. Guys diving on our own guys to make sure the player goes down. People putting their bodies on the line and chasing down plays instead of only if it’s to their side. Something feels like it has clicked

Game film review will do that. You get that stuff pointed out to you and you get yelled at and embarrassed over it, and next game you try to make sure that won't happen to you again.

Morris is in West Memphis, right? And didn't he just transfer there recently? Think he was from TN before. Might as well be considered in-state.
Not if he's from Memphis. I only somewhat kid. Memphis is a long way and recruiting there seems about as crazy as it gets and that is saying quite a bit.

I am a rough ion.

Also a science nerd.

Don't care.

This should be why we are excited for the last half of the season, and not go into full meltdown after a Bama loss this year. I have a secret unspoken, but now spoken hope that we actually cover the spread against Bama. That would be a great sign in the change of direction in the program to me.
Just think if we straight up win it...

You do seem a little more argumentative than normal. We agree a lot, but I am not really with you on this take. I will say that I did want Morris, though.
I'm not being argumentative at all. aTm has made it a point to win recruiting battles with kids that we share interest in. That's not just an opinion.

If anything, it's other people arguing because they see it a different way. But, I'll ask, and this is for anyone willing to answer. Who have we beat out with aTm in a head to head battle for a recruit this year or last? It's possible that I just missed it.

The Memphis St, GSU, etc. losses were the most "embarrassing" losses. Loss to GSU much less because this year's team is not very good anyway.

The 2001 SECCG loss to LSU is by far the "worse" UT loss for me. We have never recovered from that loss. Been a downhill spiral ever since. We would have played Miami in the National Championship game if we just manage to stop a QB draw in that game.

Next most painful loss to me was the 9-6 loss to Bama under Majors in the early 90's. We were a top 10 team playing an unranked Bama team and at least 2 touchdowns better than Bama that year. But Majors teams always puckered up big time against Bama. Took me a while to recover from that game.

We must be around the same age

I live just outside Memphis. I would be fine with not signing any Memphis players. We don't generally have a good history with Memphis players (I don't need all y'all coming in and telling me "what about Eric Gray, etc, etc,) .

Of course there are exceptions, but generally speaking we are better off without the Memphis players. IMO.

But what about Eric Gray?

We've only went head to head against them in 3 battles that I can think of. One was Russell last year, and we were late to the party there which is why he was so offended or whatever. This year we went head to head against them for King, who wanted to stay in Texas, and for Morris. Morris is the biggest L there. But you're acting like they're just eating our lunch. They're not. If they land Omari Thomas over us, then I may agree with you.

So zero?

Haynes didn't commit because we have Bailey, so his path is easier at aTm.

Johnson was never fully committed to UT. He said when he committed he was going to visit aTm. UT is happy with McDaniel.

We didn't get the traction we needed on Moose, despite the Weinke connection. That's probably why we made the cut.

aTm made Morris a bigger priority earlier than we did. Their relationships were stronger.

So the narrative that aTm is stealing all of our top recruits is a bit of a stretch. Morris is the one that hurts because he's in-state, at a position of need, and we should've nailed that one down.

If it was just 3 might not be a deal at all, but it's more than that.
Not it isn't. I literally just named the three. There are no more. We did not recruit Walker. Nor did we pursue Muhammad heavily. There's been 3. Omari Thomas would be 4. And they had heavy advantages in 2 as King is from Texas and was never going to leave there and we were late to recruiting Russell.

edit: I forgot about Johnson. But TN never pursued him after we landed Mordecai per VQ.
