Maurer listed as the starter for Bama

Pruitt said it was a concussion. If it is not, then that is a different thing to think about. How serious is the injury regardless and would him being in there change the outcome? The kid's health is more important.

I think he said he was in concussion protocol. I'm unaware of an official statement of concussion.

Not if Mauer is healthy he won't. I honestly hope JG starts and finishes against Ala. We aren't beating them and heed Brian healthy for the rest of our games. No reason for Brian to take that physical beating if we can't win . We saw Chaney doesn't trust JG, with how conservative we were when he was in the game. Chaney opens it up with Brian in the game. We need Brian healthy for the winnable games after we play Ala. If he liked JG that much he would still be starting

There are a number of teams with higher ranked defenses, FL and GA among them. Our own passing defense is ranked 11 spots higher, our sack defense 5 spots behind them (both at 15). and we're allowing 26 ypg more rushing. 2019 College Football Stat Leaders | ESPN

Let's not act as though AL is the '85 Chicago Bears.

Because JG's YPA was inflated by the GSU and UTC games. If you get to an oranges vs orange comparison (i.e SEC or non buy games), it tells a different story...
Except for the FACT that JG had a higher ypa in the MSU game. Lmao

And in the UF game too. So wrong again.

BAMA will be playing for a NATY this year, with that not so great -D-.
Dang good possibility that's for sure but it want be cause of their defense. If they can get by LSU they have a good chance. I don't see the loser getting in. Shaping up to be the game of the ages. This years playoffs could be very interesting. Ohio St is great in all phases, Wisconsin's D is stupid good, Oklahoma's D has got much better and Clemson is playing a high school schedule so they're in for sure plus there's still Bama and LSU. Penn State, Ohio St and Wisconsin will sort themselves out. But Clemson and Oklahoma should be undefeated so there's 2 in for sure. If Ohio State wins out and is undefeated there's 3 in and Bama or LSU will be left out. Plus they still play at Jordan hare and the SEC championship. That's a tough row to hoe plus the semi finals. 1 lost could be season ending unless it's to Auburn. Going to be fun!

In non buy games, BM is 7.9 YPA

In non buy games, JG is at 7.07 YPA (403/57)

Nope, you are wrong AGAIN. You could have stated JG was far better against MSU and been right but when you try to lie or twist stats, I will call you out on it...

I don't want to see BM hurt and don't want him to play in fear of getting hurt. I do think that he will gain tremendous experience playing against Bama, experience that will pay off later this season and next year.
As good as Alabama is as a team, many do not believe their defense is playing elite despite having great athletes. I read this over the weekend but have not looked at their defensive stats myself.

Did JG have a higher ypa in 2 of 3 SEC games or not? YES!!!!!

UF 6.3 to 4.0
MSU 15.1 to 8.7

Here is it listed another way. In the 5 games against FBS teams.

JG 7.3 YPA
BM 7.9 YPA
Still wrong. Even though you are trying to move goalposts. Every non SEC game is a buy game. AND I'm sure you would want to leave those out as BM was atrocious passing those games.

It's a fact out of the three "real games" JG has a higher ypa in two. And if you go just SEC games it's 7.9 to 7.8 overall.

I don't think it's clear at all who the better QB is, they both possess major faults to play the position.

I do not think you’re wrong, but Maurer is also a freshman whereas JG has shown us his ceiling. I think Maurer will continue to improve and get better with experience. Also, not taking into consideration their QB skills, the team seems to play with more fire and passion when Maurer is in at QB. That alone is enough for me to pick Maurer over JG. When JG is in the team seems so lackluster and one dimensional. My only concern is that we are rushing Maurer’s progression. He has been injured in both games that he has started yet it always seems to be nothing, but if it is nothing, then why did they keep him out of second half against MSU. I think they should only play him against Alabama if he is 100%. Maurer shouldn’t take a beating and get banged up or be questionable for USCjr if he’s still ailing from his first two starts.

We all know that baring a miracle we are going to get throttled by Alabama, but if we can beat USCjr we will be back in the drivers seat to get to a bowl game so I think it’s critical what happens to Maurer from here on out.

You forgot to add that he spins it to the other team better than the JR.
To be expected from a true freshman. You know what else he does? Throws for 259 against UGA in his first start. you know what else he does? He gives his team a spark and a chance to win. You keep hangin on JG and I will go with BM.

He needs as much rest as he can get. Concussions are nothing to f*** with. I would rather he not play than risk it. It isn't like we have a better chance of winning with him playing. The result of the game is still going to be a loss unless something miraculous happens.
Gotta play man if he's going to be the guy regardless of the opponent or the outcome. I've had a few concussions in my day and yeah they aren't fun or anything to mess with but we played through them mainly because we nor the coaches knew better that day and age. If he's practicing he's ready to go
