The Atlanta Braves

I’m as upset as anyone, but c’mon man. That’s ridiculous.

It’s only ridiculous if you haven’t followed the Braves the last 35 years or you actually expect them to sign more than one or two of their young players to competitive contracts as they continue to get better. They have several good young players. You are naive if you think the Braves will re-sign half of them much less them all. The league is full of ex Braves who were traded or let go

You could say that about a lot of teams, and the current GM was not the one to even trade whichever transaction upset you. Like I said I’m as upset as anyone, but there’s a strong chance that this is the best team you root for, so lighten up just a little bit. The Braves future is much brighter than our FB team.

I'd point out that Freeman, Acuña and Albies are already locked up long term and all the good pitching is under team control, but why burst a narrative?

I think it's pretty safe to say that nobody in baseball that actually works within a budget is a safer bet to win for the next 5 years than the Braves.
Exactly. just like I was saying, I’m as bummed as anyone. But this is the best team I pull for right now. I just don’t get the over the top pessimism from some people. It’s frustrating, for so many reasons, but the future is so bright.

They limped into the playoffs, and had to start Matt Joyce. I began to worry when I knew they’d be going into the playoffs without Charlie or Camargo. It SHOULDN’T decide the series, but when the heart of the lineup is struggling, it shows unfortunately.

People also complain about Luke Jackson, I get it, he scares me too. But his job was up for the taking most of the year, especially after the deadline. But instead of blaming Snit, people need to realize that Wright, Touki, and Wilson all couldn’t do so much as carve out a RP role. Not to mention the downfall of AJ Minter. There was just nobody good enough to push out the deadweight in the bullpen.

It sucks, and will take a while to get over. But how can you not be excited about this team’s future?! They have a chance to replace the older veterans with young talent. Side note: I’d like to see them pursue Odorizzi.

There's no way they thought Folty, Newcomb and Gausman were all going to fall on their face. At minimum they probably thought they'd get 400 innings out of those guys.
Exactly. I am not going to disagree on wanting Anibal on the 2019 squad, but that is a TOUGH hindsight argument to make. He also had an awful start to this season.
