When you read the bit about each team it’s obvious Tennessee is the only school he’s been to. The other schools it’s more like he’s reading a quick bio about them and then for Tennessee it’s an actual response about what he liked when he went there and got a feel for it. Maybe that means nothing but hopefully we can land this guy cuz we’ve been on him from the start.

Officially visiting this weekend per VQ

Do you view this as a sign that the reports of UT not being a finalist for Hall are accurate; or that even if we're still in it for Hall, we do not want to fall behind on Cardwell; or is this simply a case of being the best available opportunity to get Cardwell on campus?

According to VQ we are still very much in it for Hall, there’s not a feeling that they’re the overwhelming favorite to land him like say with Springer, but they haven’t been told he’s down to 2 and as of earlier this week he still planned to visit next weekend. The timing of Cardwell’s visit is interesting because obviously it’s before Hall’s, so how do you balance it out if you would prefer an answer from Hall before Cardwell?

Seems curious timing with Hall slated to visit next week and the recent reports that we aren't in his top two. Not sure what this exactly means, but hopefully it's not an indicator that we're out on Hall.

I know Cardwell is at UCONN next weekend for an OV, then the following week is when we are bringing in multiple junior OV’s so staff probably didn’t want to bring him that weekend. Then you’re at November 2nd which is the UAB game so probably not the best atmosphere and is also a month from now so you’re hoping Cardwell holds off for that long. Maybe they felt this was their best opportunity for a visit and that maybe they will encourage his UCONN visit and then a decision, idk.

I wouldn't put a ton of stock in the "recent reports that we aren't in his top two". That was one person's opinion that he felt like this came down to a Clemson-VT battle. That same person (Corey Evans), if I am not mistaken, had Florida as the leader most recently. He also had Memphis as the leader for Springer, too.

Point being, Hall hasn't explicitly said Clemson and VT lead. Tennessee has been a constant in his recruitment when these other schools were believed to be also-rans. That isn't to say we will ultimately land him, but I just wouldn't put a lot of faith in Evans' opinion on the matter.
