Yeah and according to Jesse Simonton we didn't throw to DWA enough but I'm pretty sure we threw to him at least 4 time and all were catchable. I believe he only caught one. Hell, I wouldn't throw it to him anymore than that if he can't catch it.

Oh...despite living in Georgia, I hadn't heard that.

I've got the game on my phone now (via YouTube TV app, :cool:), and after the first baseman got a hit a couple minutes ago, I could hear the chant.

But just out of curiousity - the 25 initial counter rule was always there, right (at least for the recent past - 1 or 2 decades at least)?

I know the hard cap limiting signees came a couple years ago and the SEC's "Houston Nutt Rule" came in 2010 limiting signees to 28.

But even before then - let's say when Nutt signed 37...they still had to cut enough by Fall to reach 25 initial counters for that class (plus rollover guys - blueshirts, grayshirts, etc) correct? So were they just signing more than could actually fit in by Fall, then cutting kids mid-Summer?

No. They could back count and be creative. There was no hard cap at 25 at that time, AFAIK..

Well, If Freeman comes up with the routine ball for a double play then the Cards only get 1 run, but his glove has as many holes as his bat now. This series loss is on him.
