Coach Dickey has a point in that he claims the 4 team playoff is having a negative effect on quick turnarounds for teams like Tennessee. Hotshot recruits live in a “microwave” society and want it all now. Rebuilds are not that appealing to a lot of recruits. This is why you have seen Bama, OSU, and Oklahoma dominate the playoff.

Yeah, that’s a good point. But at the same time, the system before the one we have now was largely unfair to the middle tier of recruits.

Guys like Dickey had the benefit of signing 40 kids a class and kicking players they didn’t want off the team at their own discretion with very little oversight.

Spoken like someone who didn’t watch the game only caught the final score
Maybe. But at the same time, the emotion of how fun it was to see what Maurer did clouds our ability to step back and say... “damn, for all that, we only scored 14 points all night.”

You were one of the lucky skyliner folks? Details?
Not too much to it. We were up there for almost 3.5 hours. No communication from Disney at all really, just the same ridiculous recording about a temporary delay. Towards the end a new recording played and said that we could use the emergency kit on each car if necessary. Which we did in our gondola to get the kids water. We were actually stuck with more Vol fans from Crossville. The gondola right behind us was rescued by a ladder truck from the fire department which made our kids start wondering why they weren't getting us out. I was misty disappointed in the lack of communication from Disney during the event. They had the ability to speak to passengers in the gondolas and didn't. Additionally the in car emergency box's didn't work. Apparently when you pushed the button you weren't connected to a dispatcher but you could hear people in other gondolas panicking. I was also disappointed when it was all over we were told we could walk to our vehicle through a closed Epoct park at 1130 pm. At that point I had been st the park for 15 hours and was hoping one of Disney's 700 golf carts could have given us a lift.

i think a good bit of that had to do with GA....not all...but i'd say most, especially in the 2nd half.....hard to sustain a "big play" only offense.

and against a team like UGA, if you can't do something consistently, eventually it catches up to you. and i think we all pretty much knew that, even our euphoric state of the 1st 30 minutes.

against MSU, i see why they're favored. i see why most anyone would say we're bad....we're kind of an open book on that front.

but MSU isn't UF or UGA. they're going to have to prepare a solid game plan and go execute it. but we should have a shot at winning this game.....i'll be a little surprised if they win by 2+ TD's.

we did 1 of the 2 against BYU, need to do both this weekend.

BOOM! That’s awesome.

I’m a big fan of his. He’s played well when given the chance. Really glad he’s gonna be here next year.

Wish Byrd and a few others could as well.

Yea man our family is happy for him..Pruitt wanted him back next season. Brandon needed a red shirt year. I was hoping Butch would have redshirted him his freshman year.

They are a BYU tier team. A little better, but not much imo. We will have to play 4 quarters to win. 35-24 type game maybe.

Can you post ATS picks for Oklahoma v Texas, Bama v A&M, and USC v Notre Dame? I think that 10.5 is just about right for OU and Texas, but Red River Shootout is the kind of game where I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Texas win outright. Really curious what the experts' models say about that game.
Not every game has a write up yet but here are their picks with confidence grade. 1570538593379.jpeg1570538576284.jpeg1570538565444.jpeg

All valid points. Like you said, we might be a big play only offense as currently constructed. Kind of the same way we beat Auburn last year. But we’ve seen what happens when those big plays disappear.

MSU is not UGA or UF but I do think they’re pretty good. Like us, it seems like they either have really good days or really bad days - at least on offense.

I suspect Shoop will be ready to confuse a young QB. In the first half, it felt like UGA was content to kind of sit back and let the game come to them. They knew they had the talent to “turn it on” any time they wanted. MSU doesn’t have that luxury so my guess is they’ll be ready to play.

All told, I think it’s going to come down to our ability to run the football and our defense’s ability to limit the other side to field goals.

We’re underdogs. We should be underdogs. I expect us to be better - to build off some of the things we did vs. Georgia. But I expect maybe to come back to earth in other areas. Right now I lean towards Mississippi State covering the 6.5.

AP says he doesnt expect the Whitehaven trio to flip imminently but he does think that their families LOVED the trip. Especially Eason's mom which was critical for his recruitment.
Also said that if they all end up playing together he thinks it will be at UT. Also Pruitt has taken the Big O recruitment over, and his parents like it at UT.
