MSU - L (cue meltdown)
Bama - L
South Carolina - L
UAB - W
UK - W
Mizzou - L
Vandy - W

Should have been a 6-6 season without the total lapse at GSU and backbreaking BYU last second loss.

I think this is most likely. Ugh.

JG is playing just enough to not enter the portal.
His best bet is showing how professional he is for his next team. Quitting on his team because he lost the starting nod (especially since it doesn’t benefit any eligibility), isn’t the best look for a grad transfer.

I think 4 wins is the floor, based on who we have left to play and how the improvement has happened.

3 remaining games I'd put in the W column: UAB, Kentucky, Vanderbilt
2 remaining games I think if we play 4 quality quarters like we did the first half of Georgia we can Win are: Miss State & South Carolina. We get USC at home they'll be coming off playing @Georgia and against Florida then come to Neyland I think them beating Kentucky is just more proof of the fall Kentucky took than South Carolina being that good.
Bama is a L and I really don't know about Missouri sure they are 4-1, but who have they really played? Got WVU with a new HC after they struggled with James Madison in a road game...

We win Saturday though and this team might sneak into a bowl game and they'll be kicking themselves for dropping those 2 OOC games that should have been Ws.

Ignont slacked, but having him was more of an asset than a liability this year. Keeping Bituli and Henry T healthy is critical to our season.
Is Kirkland still around the team? I would be begging him to at least suit up for games and only play him if an injury happens. Is he still planning to try out for the NFL?

MSU - W (must win)
Bama - L
SC - L
UAB - W
KY - W
Mizzou - W (bye week we win)
Vandy - W

Bowl game! And most importantly, recruiting takes off and we beat the brakes off of a lower tier team.
Recruiting would see a resurgence if we make a bowl after the way we started. Could sell progress and hope. We need that to happen. Would still have a shot at a guy like Jarrett if so.

he's not great laterally, not as good as i thought he was anyway....and that's not necessarily a good thing if you're going to play outside and have set edges or get to the sidelines....

he played RB in HS, and typically RB/LB have similar attributes physically, similar body types, and are used to being physical.... can make that transition a little easier....we've seen it happen here a ton in the past....

i don't think he's "big" enough to play DE in a 3-4, and i'm not sure how much you want to put on his frame? i think that's maybe the bigger question is how much could his frame handle? if he can handle more, and still get the most out of it, maybe you do try it....if not, at ILB he can stop the run, rush the passer and take up space in the short passing game....

i'm thinking along the lines of a Thomas Davis "type" once he made the transition from Safety in college to ILB in the nfl...that's kinda how i see Crouch. HT being Kuechly, crouch being davis...
i think if he’s ILB he would have to be in the mold that CJ Mosley is where he’s pretty much a downhill run stopping LB and needs to be paired with a good coverage LB and probably spelled on obvious passing downs.

I think he could find a niche in the DL/OLB roll.

I agree with you four is the floor.

What happens if we fail to meet that threshold?

The key to the SC game is that we must come out of the bama game healthy. If I'm Pruitt, when Bama gets up big in the first half, I'm playing backups and walk ons the rest of the day. That game doesn't matter. Keep Maurer, Bituli, and Henry T healthy at all costs.

Wish that 2nd bye was before Kentucky...

5.5 I'm probably taking the under, 4.5 would be the "money" spot for betting on win total for us. I just hope they can beat Mississippi State, it'll be a big momentum swinging game for the last half of the season. Ya beat them and play Alabama tough for a half then finish on a 5 game winning streak to close out the season!

4 winnable games in November with a Bye week, if we're taking care of business the recruiting class can finish strong.

maybe so. he "looks" like an ILB...i feel confident in saying that lol..........

really need Roman Harrison to figure out whatever he needs to figure out....wuld be nice for Beasley to figure in at some point to if he can get ready....hate having to rely on so many true freshmen...but our front seven is in a bit of a pickle right now....lol.

with as thin as we are at ILB, i think if there were an opportunity to move him back inside, they would.......

I agree. I know that is Saban and his former team, but nobody needs to be hurt and the 2-3-4 team needs experience, too. I'd like to see what Shrout could do.
