Agreed and honestly, Maurer played decent.(really good for 1 qtr) We've just been sucking at QB so long, he looks great in comparison to what we're used to.I disagree. He believes in him enough to start him halfway through his Freshman season over a 3 year starter. That says a lot even if the guy he replaced wasn't getting it done.
He stuck with him after the INT. I just think Pruitt comes from the Saban style of downplaying and critical coaching. I think he also knows that Maurer has plenty of confidence and is trying to keep him even keeled and not creating ridiculous expectations that he may or may not be able to live up to.
It's not like Maurer flashed nearly as much before tonight.
Haven't followed recruiting this year as close as I normally do. Any of you guys who have paid better attention to it than me mind giving an outlook on where it's headed?

The State game next week is critical. If they can pull out a win I think the team can gain some momentum going down the stretch. I'm close to calling it a must win.We were in a good shape with some high end uncommitted guys before the season. The start definitely hasn't helped and may have eliminated some.
There is still plenty of games to change the perception of this being a 1 or 2 win team and headed nowhere in the future. They need to win down the stretch and it will help.
It is. And for that exact reason. The State game next week is critical. If they can pull out a win I think the team can gain some momentum going down the stretch.
I think Pruitt is still in charge of most of it. He doesn’t call the plays but he’s said himself he’ll change something if he doesn’t like it. So that’s basically being in charge.Starting to really wonder if the Ansley hire was a good one. Don't think it would be the worst thing in the world if Pruitt took it back over. Not many guys call a better defense than Jeremy.
We would be the best team in CFB.I wish we could genetically engineer an entire football team using JJ15's DNA.
Kid is everything you want in a football player. Wish he could have been part of a functional UT program. Very happy he got a second chance.
Reinstating JJ is a decision that Pruitt absolutely nailed and is proof for me that he knows what is needed for a winning program.... hope we give him time to bring in a team full of those types.
